Just got off five days ago, hopped in a taxi at the dock, his meter ran all the way to the airport. Total came to $13.00 and some change, I gave him a twenty told him to keep the change it was miserable out, I wouldnt want to drive in that mess.

Taxi's are always lined up waiting.   I always use Uber or Lyft which may be a 3-5 minute wait.   I don't usually carry cash and the Ride Shares are so reliable and the owners have pride in their vehicles where I have had some taxis that I don't know how they are even street legal.

Just now, Islandhop9 said:

Make sure you compare Uber/Lyft prices. After our recent cruise at Terminal 25 the Uber price was double what Lyft wanted to FLL.

Agree 100%   I always check both and choose according to time and price.

Pricing algorithms can be weird.   I was getting a car on Las Olas  and decided to change sides of street  as it would be the direction back to our hotel-  the price dropped by 30% with the same company.

Depending on how much time you have for checking in, this may be a good time to learn about Uber/Lyft.  Personally, I was amazed at how well it worked for me the first time...and I was in a non-English country for my first time.

You will need a credit card in residence on your phone to fully use the app....and that is part of the convenience of Uber...no cash to change hands and fuss with a tip.  If you want to give a tip, you do so via the app.

We fine Uber and Lyft worth the free minutes of wait as well as the $$$ savings when traveling to/from the port.   Cars are much cleaner.  Drives much nicer.  Trip more reliable.

(In November, 2021, we had a port to Amtrak Fort Lauderdale trip in a taxi that took the wrong exit off 95 and that ran up the fare a tad also)
