Sometimes you might get a person here and there informing you that masks are now optional. (A passenger not a crew member) I don’t think it was antagonistic, I think they were just trying to be helpful if the person didn’t know the change of policy. So if someone “informs” of the new policy I would just assume the best. I know it could be annoying. But try not to have it ruin your vacation if it happens to you.

Any venue that required a mask to be worn had signs stating that requirement.  Those signs should be gone now.  The last day of last weeks cruise, we saw other signs being replaced.  We also saw a crew member with out a mask, and he claimed it was now optional. But he was the only one not wearing one, and later he was masked again.

Sit down breakfast for me at the American Icon Grill.

I personally delivered my wife’s continental plus breakfast to the room before I went down. I’m the early riser in this partnership.

a yogurt parfait with blueberries, eggs Benedict and some crispy bacon. Very good. Service even better. I’m very impressed with the service starf thus far.

I know you said you thought it was 60-70 percent full, curious about any crew details on capacity. Will be on the Allure in less than a month and loving following along!

Also - American Icon Grill is the MDR, I assume? How's the Allure in terms of 'busyness' of the sit down breakfast? Thanks kindly!

One more - would love your wive's thoughts on the massage. Going with my mom and might book her one as a surprise!

I was wondering if they have tables, chairs and loungers still blocked for social distancing?

I have seen nothing blocked off. Just signs about cleaned and disinfected and signs about keeping distance keeps us all safe. But nothing blocked off.

Yes it’s the MDR that’s open for breakfast. Not busy at all, but I did go down at 8am. Still was quiet at 845 AM when I left. No lines.

I will report on the massage when I get the report from the wife. It was a manager special that was offered during the spa raffle. Only 129 for a Swedish plus some facial focus. Can’t remember the pitch. Which is crazy good for a sea day in a cruise ship. Didn’t win the raffle but the wife wins anyways with a deal.

On Allure now, disappointed over liquor in shops. No Jack Daniel's #7, they opened with 1 bottle which sold during preview according to clerk. All they have is Apple, no Fire, 100 proof, Gentleman Jack, or Honey. Not many choices on other brands.

🧉  🥳

Enjoying following along. We are in an OS in May and curious as to how well people actually social distance.  We were on Symphony In Dec 2021 and had an awesome cruise but that was not at full capacity.  Quick questions.  Were you advised of number of Covid cases on the previous cruise when you boarded?  Also, is Samba Grill now open for dinner? Thank you!

Neither should you care if anyone else is, or is not, wearing a mask. Do what you feel you need to in order to orotect yourself. I really can't foresee people judging you on this matter.

Conceptually, yes. However, I live in the most liberal county in Michigan, and have two different friends (one a nurse) who have been actively shamed for wearing masks in stores recently, so unfortunately, I think the way we have politicized masks, that is the reality.

Enjoy your day! Great price on your massage. Hope they don’t do the sales pitch pressure for extras.

Usually a simple thank you but I’m ok with just the massage works. I have only had one person continuously pressure after that.

No info on prior cruise COVID cases. And yes Samba grill is open.

As to self enforced social distancing, it’s not really a thing. I personally try too not take a seat next to someone just in case they are sensitive. I will wait for an elevator if it’s over crowded. But others will sit in the chair next to you or lounger or jump in a crowded elevator. I’m ok with it. I’m vaccinated and had my booster shot. I see people still sanitizing around the ship continually.  And they flip a sign to clean a table area before you sit, so you know if it’s been cleaned or not. But if that kind of thing bothers you at the current time and environment, you might want to reconsider a cruise as they move to a more pre COVID experience.

Thanks so much!  We plan to wear masks in crowded indoor areas and if uncomfy in dining or outdoor areas, we will take advantage of room service and enjoy some private time on our balcony.  And there are always quieter places to discover, even on the bigger ships.  Enjoy the rest of your cruise and thanks again for your posts and pics!

Some random info. No more vaccinated wrist bands. Interesting since the casino is still a vaccinated only venue.

all the mask signs look to be taken down. There are some signs showing please keep a safe distance. But that’s it. Have not seen a closed for social distance sign. I will check out the bars tonight to see if we are able to belly up to them once again.

Are the bar seats back at the Terllis Bar in CP as well?

Well, I would have little problem showing such a person a certain finger on my hand and telling them to mind their @#$%^&*( business.

Again, conceptually yes. As queer nonbinary femme and disabled person who has had people follow me to my car to scream at me more than once (not about masking, about using my disability placard as a young person) and threaten to kill me and my partner (for existing/holding hands), I tend to freeze in those situations.

As long as we won’t be the only ones, I think it is *less* likely to happen, and I will practice some snappy retorts in case it does  😂

Not sure if helpful for you, but this is also our plan. I also wound up buying the UDP, so we have some restaurants with outdoor seating options in CP and the Boardwalk, in case indoor dining feels too risky. Wishing you a safe and enjoyable cruise!
