All cruises or just targeted dates??

They did not say, but it applies for sure at least to a new sale that starts March 3 and they did not give details about what that sale covers.

Maybe some TA can post the details.

On March 3 and 4 Princess will have a $1 deposit sale.

This is per the webinar Princess had the other day.

It's not a sale if they don't lower their price ... The amount of the deposit is irrelevant in the long run because you still have to pay the same total amount.

There is a concurrent new sale that does have reduced prices, so there is a real sale.

Of course as with any sale by any company, the new sale prices may be lower, the same or higher than previous sale prices. Carrots at a grocery store that normally cost $1.50 may be on sale this week for $1.25, but that could be higher than last week's sale price of $1.00.

The $1 deposit promotion is a huge deal, especially right now when I’m not comfortable having large amounts money on deposit with any cruise line.

Of course the $1 deposit does not come with the OBC that using an FCD for deposit does.

Absolutely, but the trade off in our minds is currently worth it.  We are just tired of chasing FCCs that used to be FCDs, and FCCs that are non refundable, etc. The simplicity of reserving cruises for $2 cannot be over appreciated.

I think you can still apply an FCD if you have one. Mine was applied to a cruise we booked with FCCs from a canceled cruise (then refunded because it had expired and we canceled that cruise 🙄).

We booked a Sapphire cruise in October with the $1 special which we would not have committed to otherwise.  Includes $50 obc for double and 50% solo supplement with $100 obc for single.
