Steelers36 Posted March 2, 2022 #26 Share Posted March 2, 2022 3 hours ago, Ahoy Cruise Critic Alex said: Hi, Steelers36! You can pre-book main and specialty dining reservations through the MC app for the entirety of the cruise using DMW. If you want to add a travel companion not in your stateroom, you just have to add their booking confirmation number when making the reservation (there is a space for this when making the reservation). The reservations default to private table only. I didn't book the same thing every night, so I am not sure about the same waiter, etc -- but you could likely make the request in person one night. You can choose the MDR you'd like to dine in each night when you make the reservation. Hope this helps! Hi, Alex. You may not realize that I know how DMW works and so forth in the App. I was looking to find out the situation on the ship. Since you didn't book for whole voyage (TD style), I appreciate you cannot answer my inquiry. I am also well aware of DMW short-comings. Thanks. djzuz Posted March 2, 2022 #27 Share Posted March 2, 2022 3 hours ago, Ahoy Cruise Critic Alex said: From what I can tell, nearly if not all of the entire specialty restaurant menus can be ordered through the MC app via OceanNow. They are all priced a la carte -- around $8 for an app, $19 for a main, and $5 for a dessert. It's pretty cool actually, especially if you can't get a reservation for a particular night. Thanks for the reply Alex! Excited to try it out!

amazingcruise Posted March 2, 2022 #31 Share Posted March 2, 2022 Two questions - do they serve afternoon tea in the Hollywood Conservatory like in the sanctuary on the other ships? Does the Lotus Spa offer specials on port days? Thanks

victory2020 Posted March 4, 2022 #37 Share Posted March 4, 2022 I'm assuming you are Elite - how was the mini bar? Back to normal? What is approximate capacity? How easy is it to just walk up to anytime dining & get a table for 2?
Mike45LC Posted March 5, 2022 #38 Share Posted March 5, 2022 Esper10: They no longer offer the traditional early and second seating at dinner which you used to sign up for when you booked your cruise. Now, you can make reservations for each night's dinner by means of an "application" on your smart phone, or through the interactive TV in your cabin or by phone (or even by personally talking with the maitre d' at the restaurant itself). Or you can walk up to the front desk at the restaurant when you are ready to eat and wait for a seat. On our last Princess cruise, before they adopted this new program, the Second Seating was full and we were placed in Anytime Dining. We did not make reservations even once, and we were generally seated at a table for two reasonably quickly.

SUPPOSEDLY, if you book Same Time for Full Length of the Voyage, you should get same table and waitstaff for the voyage which mimics TD. At this time, it is nearly impossible to know if you pick a time slot what the major showtimes are to be in alignment. Princess did publish which times they consider to align with the former Early & Late TD. But I would say that is going to be more relevant when ships are full again and they have more regular shows. AVCruzers Posted March 5, 2022 #41 Share Posted March 5, 2022 We were on the Majestic in both Oct. and December. Afternoon tea was served in Concerto DR not in the Conservatory. Yes, there is a discount for Lotus Spa on port days. It was the only times that we used the spa.

traveling6 Posted March 5, 2022 #47 Share Posted March 5, 2022 I am looking at cabin A736 and A738 on Majestic Princess to Alaska. It is an Aft facing cabin. Is there an overhang on the balcony? I have seen pictures and information on the Dolphin Deck that there is an overhang protecting you from weather etc. But the info mentioned that the Aloha Deck does not have this. Any information on this would be appreciated. Also if you recommend Aft facing on an Alaskan cruise. Thanks
MargoK Posted March 5, 2022 #48 Share Posted March 5, 2022 Is there still Crooners Bar (with Piano) next to the Casino. The Princess website deck plan has something else there but in the descriptions for entertainment it has Crooners. Loved Crooners for its close access to the lower theatre. Loved the lower theatre for the wheelchair 'parks' at the end of the aisle! For once I could get close to the stage and see everything!
