Upsell through Cruise Manager

This was a first for me.  I've had Carnival call and offer an upsell or send me an email about a special deal but this surprised me.  I checked my May 28 Ecstasy 5 day cruise on my Cruise Manager and a pop-up appeared offering an upsell from an interior to a balcony for $200 total.  Since I have myself and my 2 DDs in the same room I thought "heck yes!" and clicked on the button to approve the upsell.  All went through and the modification is reflected in the Cruise Manager.  I was lucky I checked on my cruise so I could take advantage of this.

Anyone else have an upsell like this?

This was on a cruise that was an email offer at a great rate.  Basically $100 per person but you got $50 OBC.  Maybe because it was a "special offer" so the "balcony carrot" was dangled?  I don't know but I thought I'd include that info as well.  Oh, and I could have upsold to a suite but that was more than I wanted to spend, like $450 I think.  I will be checking my Cruise Manager more frequently after this!👍

Same happened to me but I wasn’t over the moon with the cabin they were offering. Called my PVP and he said there were lots of others to choose from and I could also move up to a higher deck for just $10 more. So it pays to call and see what else is available if you get an offer.

I've had upsell/upgrade offers just show up on the Carnival website, as well as a casino offer for dirt cheap cruises.

I guess some of the geniuses at Carnival think everyone's lives revolve around looking at the Carnival website.  I believe it would make a lot more sense and get a bigger response if they emailed these offers to those who are eligible.

Yes! Just did this from a balcony to a Grand suite on my upcoming Elation cruise next month.

Where does this pop up in your cruise manager? I want to make sure I am looking in the right place for any possible future offers.

I believe I selected my Ecstasy cruise (I have a couple cruises coming up) and noticed in my To Do List an addition I hadn't seen before.  It said something like, "Want to upgrade?" I clicked on it and a window popped open saying "do you want to upgrade to a balcony for $200"  or "a suite for more money (I think $450) and I selected the balcony offer.  I would check your Cruise Manager To Do List everyday.👍

I had one for my 3/31 cruise on Spirit.  $100 from inside to balcony.  But I booked this solo when the ship was still Ecstasy, a 1A knowing the ships were being switched.  Total including taxes for a solo are $228.  When cabins were reassigned to Spirit I got one of the 4K former French door cabins.  Same interior space as a balcony.  I like knowing I have a balcony, but seldom use it.  I booked them when I could afford for my sister.  But she passed in Jan, so I am solo again.  I passed on the offer, but if they come back with one for a suite…. We were offered and took an upsell from a balcony to a suite for our May cruise.

Now gotta figure out what kind of perks we get.

One perk is that you get to board first on embarkation.  Your suite should be ready for you to drop off your bags.  Have a great cruise!!

I have an upsell on June Mardis Gras cruise from our extended balcony to an Ocean Suite. They want $630 for the upgrade. If it was in the $400-$500 range I would do it but don't want to spend an extra $630 right now.

Wow!  Our upsell was $288 and that's for 3 people.  Yeah, we took it.

If that had been ours I would have snatched it up. If it comes up again and is cheaper we will jump all over it. 🙂 Now I sit and wait and check every day lol.
