Thank you for the Monday Daily, Rich.  Plants have a vital role in controlling climate change.  My cereal choices these days are all hot cereal.  Both the pork and the sausage sound tasty but high in fat.  I have not been to Madagascar.  I love the Angelou quote.  My alternative menu suggestion is Chilled Blueberry Soup, Broiled New York Striploin, and Raspberry and Almond Tart as served on MS Prinsendam March 7, 2019:

Good morning.  Thanks for the Daily.

Interesting days.  I rarely eat cereal for breakfast except for oatmeal.  Crown roast of pork sounds wonderful but not for us today.  We should eat more plants and reduce our consumption of meat.

I like the quote.

The meal suggestion sounds good, but I don't think we have any sausages in the house.

I'm sure the drink of the day will be good on a cold day like today.

Hope the wine is tasty.

I haven't been to today's port, looking forward to seeing pictures.

Prayers for everyone on the Care List.  Cheers to all who celebrate.

It's cold and snowing here, I think we had some ice pellets before it turned to snow.  I'll have to be careful walking Bertie this morning.

Have a wonderful Monday.

Stay safe.

Thank you for today’s Daily, Rich! Another gorgeous morning here. Rain clouds are supposed to start moving in tomorrow, so my streak of amazing weather may be coming to an end. But we need the rain. @summer slope, Dixie are you anywhere near the area of high risk for wildfires? Or for that matter - any of our Southwest Florida Dailyites? Be safe.

Thank you for taking care of our lists, Roy! Morning Dailyites. Off to the gym, then helping a neighbor pack. Hate to see them go. I am hoping that my luck will hold out with neighbors & the new owners will fit into the group.

Another set of random smiles…

Château La Rose du Pin 2019 Bordeaux
This rosé has very good - excellent reviews, and a reasonable price. A few online distributors with prices starting at $13.99.

Product notes

Jonathan Ducourt supervises the La Rose du Pin Chateau, which is part of a 13 chateaux portfolio created by his ancestors in 1850. He also owns the largest independent vineyard in the region covering a total of nearly 1,000 acres. They produce an astonishing 200,000 cases of wine yearly.

Many think Bordeaux has a vast array of chateaux lined up within its borders all making wine from the largest fine wine producing area in the world. The total number of producers is a staggering 12,000, more than the entire United States. But a full third of those producers are grape growers who sell their grapes and finished wine to chateaux and negotiants who want to produce a wine that says Bordeaux without the cost of growing the grapes.

Ducourt actually does both. He doesn't need all the grapes he produces so he sells a certain amount to eager negotiants waiting to get their hands on them. This allows him to pick and choose among his best lots for his own chateaux.

La Rose du Pin is located in the Entre-Deux-Mers appellation, which separates the Right Bank from the Left Bank of the Gironde River. It is primarily known for exceptional white wine featuring Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. In our case the Sauvignon leads the numbers with 80% of the blend. We love this grape in Bordeaux. It brings us the typical extraction we expect with bright white nectarine and touches of pineapple and lime. Imposing shellfish dishes like pasta with fresh sardines or bouillabaisse await.

Good morning, everyone.

Rain on the roof woke me up again this morning.  Yesterday turned out to be a glorious day with warm temperatures and blue skies in the afternoon.  I don't hold out hope for that today!  I have the pool at 9:00 am and then a day of working to put together the state conference for the organization I work for.  I will be stepping down at that conference and turning over the leadership.  I think it is time as I agreed to do this for 2 years back in 2012.

Today's meal sounds great for yesterday when I could have grilled out.  I do have some sausages and I may still dodge the rain drops to grill them up with some veggies.  This first recipe gives us the basics on how to grill sausages so they don't become black carbon rollers. Although it says Italian sausages, the technique can apply to other types as well.    https://www.theblackpeppercorn.com/how-to-grill-italian-sausages/

Once we have the technique of grilling sausages down pat, what do we do with them?  Well, they go well with grilled peppers.  https://www.katiescucina.com/grilled-italian-sausage-w-grilled-sweet-peppers/

You can grill up any kind of vegetables to go with your sausages and it makes for a wonderful meal.  I'm going to grill some cabbage!  https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/grilled-sausages-with-summer-vegetables/

Throw in some mushrooms and onions and some little potatoes.  Mmmm good.  https://damndelicious.net/2018/09/05/grilled-sausages-peppers-and-potatoes/

2079926743_Grilledsausages4.thumb.jpg.780d1c738f8a407d34eb42eb7eb06872.jpg

Now doesn't that have you anxious for summer and barbecues?   Why wait?  Fire up that grill and shovel a path through the snow to get there.  I have been known to do that.

Prayers for all who need them, especially the people of Ukraine.  Cheers to all who are celebrating.

Thanks for our Monday Daily, Rich.

Interesting collection of days today.  I’ll pass on the cereal thanks and celebrate the roast of pork and especially the plants 😉

That quote is so true.  I haven’t told DH of Miko’s passing on the doctor’s advice and it is agony not to tell him and say that the dogs are “fine”.

Just on my first cup of coffee 😱 No, I didn’t sleep in - I took one look outside at my driveway and had to bite the bullet and start to get ice melter on it - 5 bags worth!  Not sure how much good it will do with how much ice there is 😔 I have only have 2 bags left and scared to use them as we have more rain coming and then a deep freeze.  😔 Not sure if I can go anywhere, but I’m sure going to try.  I am going to need more ice melter with tonight’s forecast & hope to get to the hospital.  The morning is not off to a good start.

I tend to do a lot of wine memes and feel bad for the beer lovers so…

Well, back out to the driveway whether I want to or not 😡 Sometimes I wonder if someone is hosing my driveway on me 😉

Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list.

Have a great Monday everyone !!!!!!

Good morning, Friends. Thank you for the Daily, the Lists and the Recipes.

I only eat cereal once or twice a year nowadays. I do enjoy crown roast of pork and have been told I make a great one. Plants are very important for the environment as well as nutrition.

The meal sounds good. My Mom used to make them with mushrooms, onions and orange, red and yellow peppers. Love the quote.

We have an appointment at 9:00 to get our retired military IDs again. There was no way for us to know, but when we got them in November they had something incorrect. Then we are off to spend a couple of days with friends we met on our most recent cruise.

Praying Russia abides to the cease fire this time and that ultimately will stop the war completely.

Have a great day.

🙏 and 🎉 for those on our lists.

Today's sunrise is the last from my 2016 odyssey that started with round trip transatlantics on QM2 and Queen Victoria, featured an Antarctic Crystal Symphony cruise from Buenos Aires to Miami and ended with Amtrak's Silver Meteor back home. On March 7 Silver Meteor was between Richmond and Washington DC:

Good Monday morning.  Love cereal anytime of the day, have never had a crown roast of Pork and always celebrate plants.

Interesting quote.  Will have to think about it.

Love the meal and the recipes.  Have not been to the destination.

@cat shepard, the fires are not anywhere near us.  Slight smoke smell in the air.  We are mid state, between Ft. Pierce and Bradenton.

Please continue to be safe.  Use caution where necessary.

Honey Toddy:

I could only find a recipe for a Hot Honey Toddy.
Ingredients
2 ounces bourbon
1/2 ounce hot honey
1/2 ounce lemon juice
top with hot water
Instructions
Add the bourbon and honey to a mug. Top with hot water and give it a good stir, to dissolve the honey. Then top with lemon juice. Serve garnished with a lemon rind or wedge, optional.

To make your own hot honey, combine 2 large dried chilis and 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes with 12 ounces of honey over low heat. Cook for 30 minutes, then allow to cool. Remove the large chilis and store in a container with a lid. If you want to strain out the red peppers you can, or you can leave them in.

Goood morning from Azamara Quest. We are really enjoying our new cruise experience. Embarkation did not go smoothly as it appeared there were many computer gremlins that were keeping the IT folks busy. Everyone that I know of tested negative and we all got aboard this boutique styled ship. Lots of wood accents.

We had a lite lunch in Windows ( lido) and then went exploring. We then returned to cabin, met our butler dressed in black tails and our room steward. Both of whom we’re very friendly and sincerely interested in our welfare and needs.

Sail away was pretty breezy but a very nice and visual sail away with the Miami skyline and many yachts and watercraft. No Coast Guard or police escorts and at times it seemed the private watercraft were directly in our course or uncomfortably close.

As we passed South Beach and reached open waters we could immediately feel the motion of being on a smaller ship. The seas are still churning this morning.

At 600 PM we met in the Draft Room ( Beautiful wood lined airy skylight well stocked library) for our Cruise Critic M&G A few very seasoned cruisers attended. Champaign was served and we to meet our Hal Kirk and wife.

We had dinner in main dining room and chose the French themed menu of mustard beef ribs, escargot, duck confit salad and a great tasting flan.

We then went to the Cabernet for an evening show that highlighted the entertainment on-board. On Azamara the Cruise and Assistant Cruise Directors are very talented singers, a Piano Player women from Ukraine performed a number and performs in the Den. A Filipino band with a great female singer performed in the Living Room ( Crow’s Nest) and they were good. After surviving dancing without falling we headed off to our cabin for a restful rocking to sleep evening.

Now it’s time for breakfast!

Thanks Rich and to all. We are very happy with the beginning of our Azamara experience.

Good Morning from a warm and sunny day at the beach

Our weather has been wonderful but we have some much needed rain forecasted for mid week.

I do like certain cereal. especially with fresh fruit on top. I do like a pork roast, although it has bee awhile. Have not been to todays port.

Busy week for me with the tournament on Friday. Although, we got a lot done yesterday.  There are several things that cant be done until that day, but we got it all organized.

I am getting more optimistic about our trip to Australia. Thought I might even call Flight Ease about the return flight. Not this week though.

Prayers for everyone on the list and especially the people of Ukraine.

Stay safe and enjoy today

Good morning everyone and thanks for the daily report.  Hooray for cereal, crown roast and plants. I like today’s quote.  The meal suggestion sounds nice but it’s not in the cards here today.  Haven’t been to today’s port yet.  I had to get up early today and collect my laptop and other supplies before anyone got to the office as I will be working from home all week. Guess who tested positive for Covid yesterday?  Me, although I feel fine.  I took a second test of a different brand and it returned the same result but DH’s test was negative, go figure.  Prayers for everyone on our prayer list and the Ukraine people🇺🇦.  Cheers to everyone celebrating happy events today.

Good morning everyone. Yesterday was warm and beautiful and we spent the afternoon with 4 other friends in one of the gazebos we have on the condo property. Today is going to be near 80 and must be a record breaking temperature. I can’t seem to wake up this morning. I have searched everywhere for the title to Sam’s car and since I can’t find it I will have to deal with the motor vehicle bureau and make an appointment on line and get the paperwork done.

Stay safe everyone,

Carol

Good morning.  Sometimes, I have to look at something from both sides-

power plants

th?id=OIP.hEop6Fz811G7Q9LGZK4RZwHaE8&pid=Api&P=0&w=278&h=185or plant power

echinacea.jpg its all about  perspective.

For our friends on the panhandle of FL, I pray you are well, and not near the fires.

For our friends in the north country, I pray you stay safe with your new winter blast.

@Cruzin Terri I hope your DH is feeling better today.

@kazu I would put the laugh button out for your post, but with what is going on in Ukraine, I thought better of it.

I have the windows open this morning, and only one cat has decided to brave being in the window. Wait, now there are two.  We got up to 80 yesterday, we went for a walk with our friends.  The woman said she was winded after less than a quarter mile, so she stopped and sat on a bench til we came back for her, she was doing better than the last time we saw her, for a while, and then it went down hill fast.  DH made it around the trail once, his hip was hurting, and headed back to sit with the woman, and her hubby and I put in two miles, and caught up with them, and then we all walked back to the car.

We stopped at a nice restaurant at the golf course in Stone Mountain Park for lunch, and while we told them what was a great meal there, they ordered burgers well done, and then complained that they were too done.  DH and I had our usual, fried grouper sandwich.  I don't eat the bread.  Just the fish.  But this place is not known for desserts, and I did feel bad that they had not enjoyed their meal, so I stopped at the German restaurant in town, and we got coffee and pastry.  And this is when it got weird, the woman wanted ice cream. Not pastry.  They told her they had vanilla, so she told the guy who brought water that she wanted ice cream.  But he wasn't our server, so then when she heard what the rest of us were having, she went to  look at the pastry.  She came back to the table after showing the waiter what she wanted and said she ordered lemon cake with ice cream, and the waiter?  he delivered a chocolate chip cheese cake, sans ice cream. Oh well.  Its what she ordered.  She loved it.

DH had streusel with ice cream, the male friend ordered German chocolate cake, and I got something called Bieninstich.  Which was a huge piece of ground almond cake, with almond toffee on top, and vanillla cream between the layers.  I cut it in half, and will split the half with DH for our work snack this afternoon.

The rains are to come in this afternoon, and it is supposed to rain on and off all week.  We are to be weather ready today, bad storms are projected for the afternoon and early evening.  We were at 80 yesterday, and next Saturday the low is going to be 29, with a high of 47.  Yup, spring time in Georgia.

Have a great day!

Happy Monday!

I love the collection of days - I have cold cereal almost every morning. I love pork roast during the winter with potatoes and carrots. I would not like the drink but the wine and meal sound pretty good.

Storms early this morning but they are gone now and cooler weather is in place for a few days.

Love those memes!

Good morning to all.

Thank you Rich and Roy for the lists.  Most of all thank you all for all your prayers and support yesterday.  DH is still sleeping so I really don’t know how he feels.  I will wake him in a few minutes.

Interesting group of days.

We have cereal every day but Sunday.  Then we alternate between eggs and waffles.  I am surprised that Crown Roast of Pork has a day dedicated to it.  Don’t think I have the energy to make one.  I love plants but am not good at making them grow.

The meal of the day—grilled sausages is easy and right up my alley.  Have some sausages in the house and it’s a nice day.  Just take the cover off the grill and easy peasy.

Like the quote.  I guess every one of us has untold stories.  Not sure I want to share mine.  At least not here and now.  Some things remain in one’s heart forever.

We will move forward today and see where we go from here.  First to see how he feels and then take it from there.

Prayers for all on the lists and cheers for those celebrating and cruising.

I hope everyone has a good day.

God Bless and stay safe and healthy.

Terri
