Riocca Posted March 22, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 22, 2022 (edited) New for Azamara Onward the Drawing Room is going to be an upscale cocktail bar called the Atlas Bar. Serving premium cocktails not included in the included beverage package. https://www.azamara.com/our-ships/azamara-onward?ecid=em_23749021&rid=343705897&emsc=GBR_PG_PLUS_MH_YESBKFUTURE&emct=E&lnkid=https%3a%2f%2fwww.azamara.com%2four-ships%2fazamara-onward Edited March 22, 2022 by Riocca Add picture 3
takemewithyou Posted March 22, 2022 #2 Share Posted March 22, 2022 (edited) Well that is interesting! We hadn’t heard about this before. I wonder if the cocktails will be covered by the Ultimate Beverage Package. So no more library! Some people will not be happy about this. I am not sure how I feel about this! It is taking a library a and making it into a revenue generating venue. Edited March 22, 2022 by takemewithyou

There’s also an additional Chef’s Table in Aqualina, I know the bar has been removed from Aqualina just wondering now about Prime C.
BBQ Lover Posted March 22, 2022 #4 Share Posted March 22, 2022 I am also still digesting the information, but I definitely do not like that Atlas Bar. I don't like it at all.
takemewithyou Posted March 22, 2022 #5 Share Posted March 22, 2022 (edited) I have a hunch that the Prime C bar may be removed to allow for more tables in Prime C. Remember there will be more suites on Onward, thus more people trying to get reservations in the specialties. Mackdogmolly Posted March 22, 2022 #6 Share Posted March 22, 2022 Just got an email about a new “specialty” bar, Atlas, on deck 10, only on Onward. Not sure how I feel about this.
lisiamc Posted March 22, 2022 #7 Share Posted March 22, 2022 I’ve not seen anything about this yet, even though we’re booked on an Onward cruise. What makes it a speciality bar?

lisiamc Posted March 22, 2022 #9 Share Posted March 22, 2022 I’ve just seen the other thread. That doesn’t sound like a step forward, does it?

B17 Posted March 22, 2022 #12 Share Posted March 22, 2022 I wonder if it will work like Celebrity if you are on the normal drinks package and want a drink off the premium you just pay the odd $1 or $2 supplement to purchase a singular drink

However you can ask for any cocktail to be made using the included spirits at no charge.
B17 Posted March 22, 2022 #14 Share Posted March 22, 2022 Because of the pandemic I havent sailed with Celebrity for a couple of years but certainly 3 years ago if I wanted something like a singapore sling or a B52 that wasnt on the classic cocktails list I would just get charged and extra $1 which was far cheaper than purchasing a whole premium package for the duration. Hence I wondered if Azamara did the same.
Mackdogmolly Posted March 22, 2022 #15 Share Posted March 22, 2022 From the hype, it sounds like this will not be the case. It smacks of a new classism I don’t like at all

On Azamara a spirit, or beer is either included or it’s not. For example there are no included Cognacs/Brandies.

excitedofharpenden Posted March 22, 2022 #18 Share Posted March 22, 2022 Of more interest than the concept is that they've ripped out the Drawing Room. Hmmm. Phil

KirkNC Posted March 22, 2022 #21 Share Posted March 22, 2022 Who would go there and why?

If I wanted a cruise line with a specialty bar, then Carnival has the Alchemy Bar. Do you know what Carnival doesn't have? A Drawing Room.
Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted March 22, 2022 #23 Share Posted March 22, 2022 Yes, it takes the place of the drawing room [revised deck plans available on the Azamara website]. And it's only complimentary if you are on the Ultimate Beverage Package. I DO NOT like this idea – clear evidence of a nickel-and-diming trend on Azamara. marinaro44 Posted March 22, 2022 #24 Share Posted March 22, 2022 Bad move by Azamara.
LeCommandant Posted March 22, 2022 #25 Share Posted March 22, 2022 The trend in the same in the whole industry. Not surprised. Recall that Azamara is now owned by a private equity fund. They are here to make money. Hopefully it will remain an isolated move 😉
