Shared Butlers Upper Suites

We are traveling with another couple (they in the PH, us in a RS). We plan to be together pretty much the whole cruise. For those of you who have booked upper suites, is it reasonable to assume that if we moved next to them (Reflection), we would share the same butler? Last cruise, we were on the same deck but opposite sides and had different butlers. Have people found that a single butler does the upper suites on one side of a deck?

Butlers usually do opposite sides so if you are next to each other you are highly likely to have the same butler. Very occasionally there may be a swap, for example, a returning guest requests a butler they have previously had.

Even if you had different butlers it should not be a problem if you want do things together. For example, if you want afternoon tea daily together or early evening snacks to enjoy with a pre dinner drink just let the appropriate room butler know you want setting up for four guests.

Curious.  Why is a shared butler important to you?  If it is important, you could always ask for it with the suites manager.  They could easily switch a butler.

I was thinking the same thing.

A " What if "question comes to mind ----

" What if " the shared Butler " appears " to be giving better service to the other couple you are travelling with " ?

Perhaps one couple is more " demanding " or has more " needs " ??

It could lead to jealousy's, uncomfortable situations,  and you might not end up " being together pretty much the entire cruise ".

Generally the butlers share the Suites on their side of the ship (Port or Starboard).   We had to change room on one cruise and our butler volunteered to continue taking care of us even though we were on the opposite side.

We just figured it was easier. We are likely to spend most of our downtime in their PH since it is larger. We will usually have snacks or even sushi brought up. We are also likely to be escorted together for at least the tender ports if not some of the "private journeys" we are going on. We might take some meals in their cabin, too, which also is easier with a shared butler  -- otherwise their butler will likely end up "taking care of us" anyway rather that ours on the other side of the ship.

Thanks for answering my curiosity.😀

If you are in a PH or a RS the butlers will take care of you guests regardless of where they are on the ship. The important thing to help them to ensure you have the best experience ever is communication. If you are going to all dine one evening together in the PH try to let the butler know in advance, he/she will appreciate it.

Also if you are going on shared excursions make sure the concierge knows…Not usually a big deal but in certain ports it can be useful if they have as much information as possible.

We moved the cabin. We are doing all shared excursions and dining so now won't be any problem coordinating with more than one butler. (I hope)

Shared dining in restaurants was not allowed in restaurants on our post covid cruise unless bookings were connected. Unsure of the present situation, perhaps someone can confirm?

Even if this restriction is no longer in place it might be worthwhile connecting your bookings (if they aren’t already) just in case restrictions resume.

We had no problems dining together in Luminae or Specialty dining in August on the Millennium. Can't imagine we would this time. They can't link our cruises because we used two different travel agents.
