Craigrlewis Posted March 30, 2022 #3 Share Posted March 30, 2022 Hope you have a great time notice some drinks have an asterisk by them-what does the asterisk relate to? thanks
majortom10 Posted March 30, 2022 #4 Share Posted March 30, 2022 (edited) I notice that there is no brandy on this list which there wasnt on my cruise in QG in 2019 and when verbally asked for it was told no so it proves that when it suits they vary the choice given and there is not set choice given at all times. Or is this list the "new" list that is going to be normal for future cruises and another change or cutback whichever way you want to look at it to save money. Host Hattie Posted March 30, 2022 #5 Share Posted March 30, 2022 It does seem odd to have a section labelled Brandy with no Brandy in it ! Thanks for posting and have a great time

MarkBearSF Posted March 30, 2022 #9 Share Posted March 30, 2022 (edited) When we do our NY- Quebec City cruise in September, we'll be requesting Glenmorangie whisky and Tanqueray 10 as we have before. Edited March 30, 2022 by MarkBearSF
techteach Posted March 30, 2022 #10 Share Posted March 30, 2022 @MarkBearSF Sad to say I don’t see Glenmorangie listed anymore.

It wasn't listed before (nor Tanqueray 10, I believe). We put in the request in advance via our travel agent and they were delivered when we boarded. Stu UK Posted March 31, 2022 Author #15 Share Posted March 31, 2022 (edited) We requested Hendricks Gin yesterday which is not on the list - Butler happily delivered it rather than the ones on the list, along with Fever Tree tonic. Happy days. Caviar still freely available in QG. Laurent Perrier is the current in suite champagne. Edited March 31, 2022 by Stu UK
techteach Posted March 31, 2022 #16 Share Posted March 31, 2022 @Stu UK I LOVE Caviar and plan to order it many times on our voyage. I am wondering about their sourcing given the current political situation with Russia.
Stu UK Posted March 31, 2022 Author #17 Share Posted March 31, 2022 Forgot to add despite the notification pre cruise saying masks were no longer mandatory on the ship (except theatre), that has already changed. Masks are needed indoors when moving around due to the outbreak on the previous cruise 😷

We now prefer Princess, however when we had caviar in the cabin (when in a Q's grill suite), it was in a dollap...not any sort of container. It was nice, but I could almost guarantee it wasn't Russian. It was ok...nothing to write home about. In the restaurant, I don't ever recall seeing any kind of a container, however that could've changed...probably not for the better. I'm sure if you're having it at dinner, if you asked, the M'd will tell you....

Any idea of the point of origin on the caviar? Did you ask? High marks on the pearl spoon tho...giggle!

Thanks for your updates and as a pleb and non connoisseur, I really like the caviar served at dinner on QV so thanks for the update and good news on mask protocol. Looking forward to Cunard this year. It's been a long time coming as Sept'19 was our last trip and Cunard have seemed hell bent on cancelling our holidays and allowing the next follow on cruises to take place. We were beginning to get a complex about it all! 🙂
Rare Windsurfboy Posted April 1, 2022 #22 Share Posted April 1, 2022 We have always had , Glenfiddich, and the prosecco, both have now gone. Will ask for them. Dropping a malt whisky and a basic bubbly is a retrograde step.
majortom10 Posted April 1, 2022 #23 Share Posted April 1, 2022 as per previous posts by me on my experience in QG and there being no option of Brandy there was no Glenfiddich as a whisky choice because if there was I would have asked for that as a second choice. As it was I chose Bell's and Famous Grouse was delivered by my butler.
scamper Posted April 1, 2022 #24 Share Posted April 1, 2022 Truly sick to death of Jack Daniels being listed under the bourbon category.
Host Hattie Posted April 1, 2022 #25 Share Posted April 1, 2022 It could be worse they could be serving something produced in America and calling it Champagne !
