First night specialty dining discount

There used to be a 50% specialty dining discount for the first night - with all the changes does anyone know if that is still valid.

Maybe what you remember is the bogo, for diamond plus. And I think you are supposed to use it on the first night for the first night of the bogo. ..but I have read some could use it on the 2nd night but I'd go right away and ask if you are interested.

That is exactly what I was talking about.  Was looking at the 3 night discounted specialty dining package but was hoping to find out if the bogo was still available.  Hopefully someone will answer...

I've never seen 50%, but I have been offered and accepted 20% for first-night specialty dining.

The D+ BOGO is very much alive and well.  Used it in October and December and plan to again next week.

We'll be new D+ on our next cruise.  Is the BOGO 1 pays and 1 is free for one night, or is it both pay on 1 night and then both free on second night?

You each have a BOGO.  So you each pay for one and each have a second at n/c.

Or you can use one coupon and your other half gets to eat free.  Just depends whether you want to do one night or two nights of dining

Thanks, Ken.  How do we reserve this?  We would probably want to eat at Chops on night 2, one of us at no charge.  Do we wait to board to reserve it?

We've been on 9 RCI cruises since restart, & never had I seen so much "pushing" of the speciality dining venues, plus the various offers than on our last one on Adventure OTS early march.  This wasn't related to D+ it was offered everywhere to everyone...many, many, times everywhere you went...all the way thru day 3...discounts were from 50-30 % off.

While they have done that for a number of years in our experience, they may now be trying to entice people back to those venues as they are staffed and open, but with reduced passenger loads during the initial months of the restart, want to fill what otherwise might be empty venues.  

 

On our October and December cruises they were underutilized (even with the reduced passenger load) and were "welcoming" walk in's and offering attractive pricing - in particular if you would commit to additional nights and venues.

Usually, yes, though you could book for one now and change it for two on board.

Thanks, I think we may do that.  This is an Alaska cruise and I suspect will be quite full.  I'd like to get the time and date we want.

As a new D+, don't forget to contact C&A & let them know which in room amenity's you'd like, unless you want all waters.

Thanks for the reminder.  Another question.  We're both now D+.  If we chose a bottle of wine, are we both entitled to one, or is it for the room?  Same with other choices.

Sure thing! there are 2 amenity types, so we typically get 6 waters, 1 bottle of wine, and one beer.  of course with the new cpn system of 5 drinks per day plus my free drinks in the casino, we end up gifting the bottle of wine to the crew, but specifically to answer your question, I've understood it to be one amenity per D+ person so yes, 2 per cabin.

For the D+ amenities, the bottle of wine is 1 per household (in that cabin) unless you have over 340 points.
