Assuming nothing changes, about a month before buy two eMed/Abbott at home tests; take one pre-cruise and take the other one with you just in case there's a sudden/unexpected protocol change while aboard.

Unless protocols change for the worse, there won't be any testing required.

There's currently no testing required to disembark a cruise in the US. It would be "worse" if there was.

I thought that only applied to cruises which departed from and returned to

a US port.

Actually are sailing out on Summit to Greenland and back on August 9.   Final payment has been made and so far no protocol announced.    Will be interesting to see what we have to do.

The only requirement to test prior to entering the U.S. is if you are flying in.  And that applies even to fully vaxxed and boosted American citizens, even though there is no testing requirement (and never has been) to fly anywhere whatsoever within our huge country.

No, only flights from foreign countries to the US require a negative test. No test needed via land or sea.
