Split a pepperoni from Pizza Pirate…: which, btw, almost never had a line. That’s a theme here, btw… yeah, I know it’s alaska and there aren’t many kids and it’s subdued… but this was a full ship. The Spirit class rumors are true, people!

the “let’s split a pizza and split a Guy’s burger” agreement was so successful we may as well have signed it in Geneva.

Time to celebrate with a little luxury…. The Champagne of Beers (cheapest drink on the ship by a dollar… so naturally they ran out mid sailing)… not sure what B’s drink was, but all the RFRB drinks were fruity and delicious. (And Cussy was an amazing and fun bartender)

Java Blue… which was called something else being an older ship, but you know. Also, incredibly easy and almost never a line.

the result. Cold rainy morning, perfect for some hot java

Love the review, the pictures and the humor. Happy you're having a great time.

We'll be on the Spirit in August, with stops in Juneau and Ketchikan, and I'm already taking notes on where we want to wander. I printed up a map of downtown Juneau and marked the Triangle Club and Deckhand Dave's, can't wait to try them!

Best wishes!

Check out the little glacier soap store tucked in that area.  Soaps are wonderful

Cussy is still there?  He was on his first Alaskan contract when we met him last August.  The poor guy was freezing and out of Ting.  Glad to see he acclimatized

Omg! Yes!! He was having a ball, always in short sleeves, singing, dancing, joking around… and he most definitely had plenty of Ting

in fairness, that was a small one we cut up and split. The one I tackled the next day is a fairer comparison. 172107B9-BB6A-4499-98F1-D84D3A2551B3.thumb.jpeg.e0dc8b8c7cf37f864360fbc5534cbedc.jpeg

the fries definitely changed though. I’ve found the burgers pretty much the same on my post COVID sailings. Fries, totally different.

Beautiful! Simply stunning! 👍  What's the weather like up there?

I can’t speak for other sailings, but we got LUCKY. It ranged from 50-72 all week. Tracy Arm day was probably high 50’s or so?

I met him on his second week, working the outside bar and the roof was open.  Bit of an adjustment from St. Lucia

ha! Absolutely. I don’t know how he kept up the constant energy level that he did. He was at the RFRB darn near every time I was there, and ALWAYS just holding court and entertaining.
