Rare slewis7 Posted July 1, 2022 #2 Share Posted July 1, 2022 I can’t say which is the best but we enjoyed one at the West End Cafe About 5 years ago. We are going back to Bar Harbor this Fall, so I am curious for other opinions.
BklynBoy8 Posted July 1, 2022 #3 Share Posted July 1, 2022 Can't remember the location that I had a great lobster and my wife had a great fish platter. The lobster is so sweet from the waters. I can't wait till we return and enjoy another one.
Rare Turtles06 Posted July 1, 2022 #4 Share Posted July 1, 2022 (edited) The lobster roll at the West End Cafe won my contest for best lobster roll of our entire NE/Canada cruise in Sept. 2019. I will add that my wife's fish and chips was also delicious, and their blueberry pie (served warm, with vanilla ice cream) was the best piece of pie I've ever had. (Sure would love to have that meal again now!) (photos by turtles06) Edited July 1, 2022 by Turtles06 7
Rare 1025cruise Posted July 1, 2022 #5 Share Posted July 1, 2022 In all honesty, you won't get a bad Lobstah roll in Bah Hahbah. Yes, some might be better, but you won't be upset at any choice you make. With that said, I've seen a lot of recommendations for the West St Cafe. 1

Argh — I meant West Street Cafe! (I must have had London on my mind. 😄)
Rare 1025cruise Posted July 2, 2022 #7 Share Posted July 2, 2022 If you are sailing on NCL, West Street Cafe is right across from where the tender lets you off. Another "favorite" is Stewman's Lobster Pound, right next door to where the tender lets you off. I'll admit, I was surprised. I expected the tender to drop off by the town pier further down, not next to the Harborside.
KATHYMAC68 Posted July 2, 2022 #8 Share Posted July 2, 2022 Has anyone tried Side Street Cafe? I don’t eat fish so it looks like a mixed menu for me and the Lobster Roll for DH. just curious if anyone here can give it a good review.
Rare 1025cruise Posted July 2, 2022 #9 Share Posted July 2, 2022 I've never eaten there, but I have yet to have a bad meal in Bar Harbor.

Get the combo of chowder, lobster roll, blueberry pie. YUM! Edited July 5, 2022 by BAYA corrected restaurant name
Rare 1025cruise Posted July 5, 2022 #12 Share Posted July 5, 2022 While Stewman's has the great atmosphere of a lobster pound, you pay a premium for that waterfront seating. We had a tour guide suggest the West St Cafe since the prices are a little lower with it not having a water view.

Having visited Bar Harbor several times, besides the baked goods there are many shops that sell many blueberry items and products to enjoy at home. When we brought items home, opening them brought memories of our visit to Bar Harbor, our most favorite New England Port of Call.
Rare roxievegas Posted September 17, 2022 #18 Share Posted September 17, 2022 Right at the dock where they drop you off from your tender is a little hole in the wall (really small) you can get coffee, pastries, sandwiches. The blueberry pie is $5.00, very good. They have other stuff and it is very busy -

While we enjoyed the beer and cider selection there, my wife and I agreed that their lobster roll was mediocre at best. It was not very flavorful and the texture was off. KATHYMAC68 Posted October 20, 2022 #22 Share Posted October 20, 2022 We just went to the Side St Cafe. Blueberry Pie was delicious! Didnt care for the lobster though.
suefrankw Posted November 15, 2022 #23 Share Posted November 15, 2022 Was there in October.... West St Cafe great and price was reasonable... Stewmans great and nice atmosphere... buy more $$$ Have been to Geddys also very pricey ($38 for lob roll)and I did not feel 'lobsta' roll was as good at all. No taste= cold fries. So busy we did not see our waiter again after we got our meal. very dissapointed Just my experience
roomba920 Posted January 4, 2023 #24 Share Posted January 4, 2023 Here's my take....with the exchange rate being what it is, I plan on having lobster in Canada, and saving Bar Harbor for wild Maine blueberry pie and maybe lobster stew or lobster bisque. 1threadshort Posted January 11, 2023 #25 Share Posted January 11, 2023 im spending thousands on this cruise. I don't think I'm going to weigh having lobster or a pc of blueberry pie. No matter how good the blueberry pie is. No comparison!
