Mr. Boston Posted July 13, 2022 #4 Share Posted July 13, 2022 Good morning everyone. Thanks for the daily report. I really enjoy barbershop music in the summertime. I’ll embrace my inner geek today. A fool’s paradise is a nice place to be on occasion. I think the quote is so true. I will have to wait and see what the meal suggestion is. I’ve been to Monte Carlo once, many years ago, it was beautiful. Prayers for everyone on our prayer list. Cheers to everyone celebrating happy events today!
Rare puppycanducruise Posted July 13, 2022 #5 Share Posted July 13, 2022 Good morning and thanks for the Hump Day Fleet and Daily Report. I'm not a fan of barbershop quartets. I'll try to embrace my geekness. Too many people live in a Fool's Paradise everyday. Great quote from a great man. I'm not sure what the meal is, I'll wait to see the recipe. I hope the drink and wine are good. We were in Monaco several years ago on the Eurodam, I'll look for pictures. Prayers for everyone. Have a wonderful day. Stay safe.

grapau27 Posted July 13, 2022 #7 Share Posted July 13, 2022 Good afternoon. It is currently 72°F and sunny. Thank you for today's daily and fleet reports Rich. I'm not a follower of barbershop music. Interesting quote. I will give today's food and drink a miss. Monaco is an expensive but lovely port and usually you tender in Villefrance and take a tour either to Nice or Monaco. Monaco is known for Princess Grace (Kelly) and her tomb in the cathedral that always has flowers around it,The Casino, the formula 1 motor race plus the palace. Prayers for everyone who is poorly. Wishing everyone a lovely day. Graham.
Rare MISTER 67 Posted July 13, 2022 #8 Share Posted July 13, 2022 Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Good quote in most circumstances. Not crazy about any of the days. Pass on the food and drink. We've been to Monte Carlo and Monoco on a Veendam cruise in 2007, really enjoyed what we saw in a short time. Off to the golf course in a few minutes, my back is still sore but not bad enough to keep me away from the Links. Thanks for The Daily, stay well and have a great day.

smitty34877 Posted July 13, 2022 #12 Share Posted July 13, 2022 Good morning to all.We are with my son and family on beautiful Cape Cod. The beach yesterday was wonderful but got very windy by one pm or so.My chair has an attached umbrella that was unusable most of the day.My DGC's were in the 62 degree water with their boogie boards until several seals arrived to surf the waves. The lifeguards were busy as they came within 10 feet of the shoreline.Sharks had been seen a few days before so people took no chances. It is so nice to be with everyone and just relax on the beach. @rafinmd,Roy,I am sorry about your aunt. @HAL Sailer,Melisa, I am also sorry to hear about your DB's Covid. @durangoscots,your fall sounded scary and I am glad nothing is broken.I hope you feel better soon. @grapau27,Graham, also sorry to hear about Sarah's covid case. Camilla and her parents are still positive but are doing well otherwise. We were going to try to see them on the way home but I don't think that will be possible. dfish Posted July 13, 2022 #14 Share Posted July 13, 2022 Good morning, everyone! It is another sun shiny day here in northeast Ohio. Rain is expected this afternoon and I hope we get some as it is sorely needed. The only thing on my agenda today is to go vote in early voting for our primary and then to finish the packing. My goal is to have the bags by the front door and ready to load into the car tomorrow morning. Today's meal is interesting. Sorbetes is a traditional ice cream originating from the Philippines and uniquely characterized by the use of coconut milk and/or carabao milk. Often pejoratively called "dirty ice cream", it is distinct from the similarly named sorbet. It is traditionally peddled in colorful wooden pushcarts by street vendors called "sorbeteros". It is served in various flavors (usually dyed in bright colors) in small wafer or sugar cones and more recently, as a pandesal bread ice cream sandwich. I have had ice cream for dinner on a few occasions. And I might have it again at the Movenpick as their ice cream is really good. This looks easy enough to make. https://www.food.com/recipe/sorbetes-filipino-dirty-ice-cream-358278 This next one is ube flavored or purple yam. I thought the color was really cool. https://www.pingdesserts.com/ube-ice-cream-recipe/ This last one is a recipe for avocado sorbetes. It is kind of an unusual flavor for ice cream, but the silkiness of avocado would work wonderfully. https://www.pinoyrecipe.net/avocado-ice-cream-recipe/ Prayers for those who need them, especially victims of violence and injustice. Special prayers for all of our Daily family members who are facing challenges and struggles. Cheers to those who are celebrating. Wishing you all a wonderful day. 30

cat shepard Posted July 13, 2022 #16 Share Posted July 13, 2022 Thank you for today’s Report & Daily, Rich! All’s quiet here this morning. The ladies & I are doing a mani-pedi morning, while my nephew-in-law goes golfing with a couple neighbors. We will decide what to do this afternoon at lunch. Our beach trip yesterday was perfect. The ocean breezes really helped manage the heat. And the water was not too rough, which seems to be rare lately. The girls could not believe how warm the water is down here. Thank you for keeping our lists, Roy! Morning Dailyites. I confess to being way behind in reading what is happening with you and your family and friends. But I will catch up eventually. The girls loved the idea of cats getting manicures, too. Prayers for all who need our support. Cheers to all who are celebrating! Stay well everyone! ********* Three Pears 2019 Chenin Blanc-Viognier Consumers and critics give this lovely white blend very good - excellent ratings. Available from several online distributors for a price that makes it easy to try to see if you would like it. Prices started at $10.99. Winemaker notes With inviting aromas of juicy tropical fruits, our Chenin Blanc Viognier includes flavors of ripe pears with hints of honey and vanilla on the palate, rounded out by a clean, lingering finish. Enjoy this wine by the pool on a hot, summer day or at your next afternoon picnic. 29 5
Rare Vict0riann Posted July 13, 2022 #17 Share Posted July 13, 2022 Good morning Dailyites! It is afternoon here, but never mind. It is 84 here in Kingston upon Thames, I think that’s the coolest it has been since we arrived. It was quit pleasant when we walked out for a cappuccino this morning. We have checked out of our hotel and are just waiting for our 1 o’clock taxi to take us to the airport hotel. We’ll have an early morning tomorrow, and figured it would be wisest to be near Heathrow. sorry to hear that Covid is affecting Dailyites again. Prayers for Graham’s Sarah, Camilla and family, and everyone with near and dear who has contracted the dreaded Covid! Hope we pass our tests tomorrow with definite negatives! There were a few peoples weren’t able to see here because they either had, or had been exposed to it. 33

Rare kazu Posted July 13, 2022 #20 Share Posted July 13, 2022 Thanks for the Hump Day Daily, Rich. Nice collection of days - love barbershop music & I’ll try to embrace my geekness today (when it comes to technology problems, I find myself wanting to be more of a geek 😉). I am definitely not living in a Fool’s Paradise these days 😉 Love the quote and Gandhi is so right. @cat shepardI agree with the critics and other consumers - that is a very nice wine 👍 Very strange day yesterday - no rain but the winds were high - it felt like the beginning of one of our tropical storms but nothing happened? Hopefully I didn’t miscalculate & can greet the weeds today once I get my delivery of clothing done to Community Living.🤞 We’ll see what the weather does - can’t trust the weather man at all 😂 For the past few years I have been fighting lily beetles. (Blasted things) and despite my best efforts, I usually lose. I am happy to see one blooming. The smallest and plainest but it hasn’t been destroyed and it’s blooming. The others look relatively healthy so far as well fingers crossed. It’s a very strange year plant & weather wise. My calla lilies have just started to bloom - they are late. And yet my dahlias already have buds on them (they are early). Very strange. It must be a combination of the rain and heat on the non rain days??? Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and a 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list. Have a great Wednesday everyone !!!!! Stay safe & please don’t forget your 😷 when / where needed.
aliaschief Posted July 13, 2022 #21 Share Posted July 13, 2022 Good morning. Great to be back in Central Time. It appears we have a lot of precipitation forecasted this week as a tropical system is in the area. Small percentage that it will be anymore than just rain and thunder. We had a lovely trip and will stay busy in preparation for our next adventure. Tip of the hat to Delta airlines for all the on time flights in the past couple of weeks Rich thanks for the Fleet Report. The meal of the day kind of through me off as I wasn’t thinking frozen concoction! Prefer ice cream. Have a great Hump Day and stay healthy!

StLouisCruisers Posted July 13, 2022 #23 Share Posted July 13, 2022 Good morning friends! Another cloudy morning with some spritzes of raindrops on the windows as I walked on the treadmill. I actually had a much more comfortable night last night. Hoping that trend continues. 🤞 Thanks to Rich @richwmnfor our Fleet Report and Daily! Odd assortment of days but I can deal with it. I do admire the harmonizing of a Barbershop Quartet group. I don't mind a little geekiness in people as that trait can be very helpful. Not sure how to celebrate Fool's Paradise Day.🤪 I had no idea what the sorbetes was but wouldn't mind giving it a try. Monte Carlo is a beautiful and very expensive place to visit. We were there a few years back and I have photos I posted on March 16, 2021 to show again. Thanks to Roy @rafinmdfor the C & C lists for the day. We all continue to pray for those listed on the Care list as well as our many friends and family with Covid. Cheers for all celebrating cruises and family vacations. Speaking of that, DD says she is going to take a home test today (hoping for negative but probably too soon) and if positive she will turn that into her trip insurance company for a refund of her Pigeon Forge vacation. They were planning on going tomorrow for 4 nights and luckily bought the trip insurance. No one in the family wants to go without her so she can get reimbursed if her test is positive. Wouldn't it be great if it was negative though and everyone could have one last fling before school starts in a few weeks? Debbie @dfishI hope you and your sis and friend have a marvelous cruise, safe travels and NO Covid!! Jacqui @kazulove the flower photos. Keep them coming! I can't believe I've only been to Monaco once! It was on the Westerday in August 2017. And as usual it was a warm summer day. My DH was trying to take it very easy during this 21 day cruise because he had been in the ER for a painful issue immediately before our trip. So I found quite a few inexpensive ship tours to take in all these beautiful ports since I would be going out alone. I was anxious to see some of the countryside surrounding these Mediterranean ports. We had to tender over to shore, but I thought this photo from the ship turned out pretty well considering I had to zoom way in. The two stops on my tour were Menton and Eze. We headed towards the French-Italian border on a narrow 2 lane road. There was a slight delay because of a car accident with a small car lying on its side. I had a hard time getting any decent pictures because the bus windows were pretty dirty. But once we got off the bus, it was fine. There was only one problem tour group member - an 85 year old lady wearing high heels and ripped jeans who kept clinging to all the gentlemen's arms as she begged for help with the cobblestone pathways. Oh my goodness... Here is the beach as we got off the bus. First we had a nice visit in the local market. Then some of the beautiful buildings and churches in the village. Going back to the bus, the beaches were filling up. We headed along the beaches and then a little inland to Eze, a medieval village on a hilltop. It was amazing! It was quite a workout walking up and down the narrow passages on the hillside but well worth it. A church with quite a view. And that same church seen from the bus as we left. After returning to the ship, DH and I spent the afternoon in the Crow's Nest enjoying the view of Monte Carlo. Good times! 33
Rare 0106 Posted July 13, 2022 #24 Share Posted July 13, 2022 Love the quote. Martin Luther King was very influenced by Gandhi. He used the the aphorism in his 1958 book “Stride Toward Freedom: The Montgomery Story” Violence as a way of achieving racial justice is both impractical and immoral. It is impractical because it is a descending spiral ending in destruction for all. The old law of an eye for an eye leaves everybody blind. It is immoral because it seeks to humiliate the opponent rather than win his understanding; it seeks to annihilate rather than to convert. 23

Love the Gandhi quote but have never been to Monte Carlo. I never heard of Sorbates but it sounds very nice. My alternative is Cantaloupe boat, Chilled Blueberry Soup, and Quail with Apricot Bread Stuffing as served on MS Rotterdam VI July 13, 2011.
