Your gonna get a lot of judgmental people that say no way should you wear shorts in the MDR. But it’s been documented that some have been able to wear shorts in there. So that said. The rules say one thing. But other things are happening. I’m a shorts guy. Never wear pants. So I’m on the go shorts team. Lol
Sea Hag Posted July 17, 2022 #4 Share Posted July 17, 2022 All I can say is that I've seen folks getting turned away at the MDR for wearing shorts to dinner. But not lately.
MissP22 Posted July 17, 2022 #5 Share Posted July 17, 2022 All I can say is that on the Enchanted last March and April they let people wear shorts at dinner in all the dining rooms. (casual nights)

The official answer from Princess dress code is no shorts for dinners. We have seen diners being turned away several times at the door because of the shorts. However, there are always exception. If you are in the Club class, you can just about wear anything from shorts to T-shirts to get into your exclusive dining area. We have seen diners in shorts, tank tops and sandals get seated immediately in the Club class dining area but not regular diners in the main dining room. Torfamm Posted July 17, 2022 #7 Share Posted July 17, 2022 The dress code clearly states that shorts are not allowed. No one can tell you whether the dress code will be enforced on any given night on your cruise. If eating in the MDR is important to you, I’d wear pants. Thunderbird19 Posted July 17, 2022 #8 Share Posted July 17, 2022 Heck, just bring one pair of long black pants and wear them on nights you have dinner in main dining room. Easy peasy.
wowzz Posted July 17, 2022 #9 Share Posted July 17, 2022 Basically, the dress code says no shorts. So, if you want to wear shorts, fine, but expect to be turned away.

Rare mom says Posted July 17, 2022 #11 Share Posted July 17, 2022 If you are incapable of wearing a pair of long pants for a couple of hours a night, then go to the buffet, thus avoiding public embarrassment when turned way from the MDR. Or is that a hill you really want to battle for?
