How bad is the noise on connecting cabins on conquest class ships?

It seems there are two doors as the connection from YouTube videos I've seen.

Been assigned one and can't change as all other cabins are also this type.

We have had one twice…. Once it was friends and once it was strangers. You can hear some noise. Honestly, it’s not much different than no door. If you have quiet neighbors, it’s quiet. If you have noisy ones, it’s noisy.

Exactly this.  I make it a point not to have connecting cabins (unless cruising with my kids) on a ship or in a hotel.  We are light sleepers, and the walls are kind of thin on ships and we hear everything!

We had one once and it was terrible (would never book again) but as mentioned it all depends on your neighbors.  We only had one bad night, when for some reason, there were a ton of people in the room next door, and I don't know if someone was bumping into it or what was causing it, but the door was rattling/thumping until like 3 am (our last night heading back to port).  I kept waking up startled thinking someone had opened the connecting door.  We could easily hear laughing/talking.

I had a connecting room on the Panorama and we could hear everything happening. It was a room that had several kids and there was constant yelling and door slamming. Personally I would never book another room like that again, but I didn't know how bad it would be. But like I said that is my personal opinion on that type of room.

I would prefer the possible vibration on deck 2 aft than having a connecting cabin again. Can hear the person next door using facetime to talk to family, talking, coughing etc. Sounded like they were in the same room.  Never again.

Thank you

There are only connecting oceanviews left and one non connecting main deck 2 aft cabin which I don't want to book as I've heard lower aft vibrate like nothing else.

The ship is the Glory btw.

I've been on deck 1 in the far aft - next to last room on the ship - and didn't feel bad vibration. YMMV. I'd rather be in the back on the bottom of the ship that than a connecting room personally. But each to their own!

I totally agree that I would rather have a room in the far aft of the ship rather than a connecting room.  I have had only 2 experiences with connecting rooms, and never again.  As mentioned by others, everything being done in the adjoining room can be heard, and I mean everything.

Down to zipping up a suitcase. Speaking from experience.

Not making me feel okay about booking a connecting cabin on Mardi Gras.  I couldn't pass up the cabin - great casino deal.  The cabin is an extended balcony on deck 10.  I've been on the Mardi Gras twice already and this location would be ideal for me.  I've been in connecting cabins before but with family next door.  I don't remember hearing them unless we had the doors open.

Guess if push comes to shove, I can always turn on my sound machine.  I don't spend a lot of time in the cabin, but plan to be on the balcony quite a bit - so the connecting door won't be my problem - slamming the balcony door or being super loud on the balcony will be more of an issue.

That is a good point.  We recently booked a really good casino deal but had to take a balcony guarantee, couldn't pick our room (first time in over 20 cruises) but ultimately decided, what is the worst that can happen?  It might not be a great cabin, but I will be on a ship (not at work) and can handle almost anything for 8 days to be on vacation. 😄

Like some of the replies above it really depends on the neighbors. I booked a balcony guarantee on a ship and I ended up with a connecting room. We had the loudest neighbors I’ve experienced on a cruise ship…constant door slamming, loud music, etc. so you might get lucky and have quiet neighbors or you may not

I think a little white noise would go a long way in drowning out the noise unless the neighbors are really loud.

I've noticed no difference at all.

Depends how much the neighbor lost in the Casino and how loud the yelling is by the significant other!

Somebody maxxed out the credit card next to us a couple of cruises ago and his wife was irate for about an hour... At 2am!!

We always avoid if possible.  Your neighbors don't even have to be noisy.  Normal volume TV can be heard.  That said, we understand the risk when we book absolute last minute or arrange a TBD cabin because of an incredible price.

Put it this way: regardless of whether there's a connecting door or not you can hear the people conversing and their TV in the next cabin on either side of you in all Vista Class ships. Less so on Spirit Class and Dream Class vessels in our experience.
