flight to Toronto

Our cruise ends in Fort Lauderdale. Do you think we could make a 12:00 p.m. flight to Toronto Pearson? There is a big price difference between the 12:00 o'clock flight and the 2:30 flight.

We have done it  in the past 

The airport is 10 mins give or take from the port  ..get off by 9am  & get through all the hoops 

 

one time security at FLL took us 1 hr

I would definitely book a noon flight at FLL.

Noon is a good flight.  From the many times we have taken that 12:30 or 2:30 flight depending on price, we could easily make an 11 am flight.

No problem. We had an 11:15 flight on July 9th and from signing off the ship to waiting at the gate was maybe 45 minutes. We only had carryon so no luggage to pick up but walk off with first group and straight into a cab.

Do self-disembarkation, carry your own luggages off.  Often can get off at or shortly after 7am.  Plenty of time as the FLL port is close to the airport.

A good idea, especially on a Saturday or Sunday when the mega ships are in port.

Have a back up plan. We've had two flights cancelled already, and scrambled to find seats on other flights out. At this point we are waiting the day out at a hotel and taking a late flight. Hopefully to mitigate possible airport screw ups. We've never been able to make the 1145 flight, but the next one is always doable. Getting to the airport has never been an issue, but getting thru the Everglade Port Authority has been a nightmare at times. Carry your own, and don't listen to the cruise line advice.
