I was surprised that there were no staff enforcing this on our Silhouette cruise.

Casino staff are walking around handing out masks.  If refuse they are asked to leave.   The Casino has been busy

Did you have ‘locals’ lining the entry to St John’s, cheering?
We were on Azamara Quest in September 2016 and had that welcome.

Apparently the entry is particularly difficult and not all Captains will attempt it, particularly if it is slightly windy.

Not sure yet.  It will be dependent on number of positive cases.  So far no announcements.  Casino and theater requires masks.

yes ArriveCAN has to be submitted for each trip. Rather easy as all the data is already there.

yes I just did it and was amazed how fast it was.  I got lost when looking at list of ports and tried to select only to find out it was the list for information prior to starting.  I printed out email as I can not figure out how to save the QR code on phone.

I just watched the video. This passenger should be taken off the ship. If he was on a plane he would be taken off by security when he landed. This should not be tolerated!

I went to the link posted and it was only JJ both describing the event. Would love to see the man.

The guys from JJ Cruise are currently onboard doing the Iceland B2B and have just covered an incident in Blu on their YT channel. They were clearly horrified at what happened.😕

I just watched the JJ cruise video. I have followed them for a while and they seem to be very sincere and kind young men.

This whole conversation is hilarious to me. We were on the last sailing, and JJ repeatedly had ear-splitting FaceTime chats in public spaces with their friends and family (no headphones), then dismissed other passengers who asked them to turn it down. The sense of entitlement was over the top.

There's nothing like transiting spectacular fjords in Greenland while another passenger decides he's going to chat to his mom over FaceTime on speakerphone from the Sunset Bar with the volume turned up to 11 and then roll their eyes at other guests... when do we get that video? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Click bait.  That seemed to be the purpose of the video.

Somehow this doesn't surprise me.  There's a whole flock of these "entitled" young people out there.  (But for every "entitled" person there's a really nice person so I guess it all balances out!)

And that new thread started has already been sent to the graveyard by the mods. Thank you mods!

I am not a fan of the JJ propaganda either by some posters on someone else's review board.

So can we get back to Jim and his excellent pictures and review here.

I agree! But it's not just young people. There's a heck of a lot of entitled people in all age groups.

That I can no answer.  Maybe some of the others on the cruise can advise.  We came in around 5:30 and we were fast 💤

Reality is we have never been asked for it.  They come aboard and check the manifest.  Can’t be too detailed as it only took 15 minutes to clear the ship.

Definitely would say on this cruise there are 100 for each entitled.   Usually you hear them preface with.  - I’m an ELITE Member.  Like the whole crew should bow down.

i personally have not witnessed a single case of disrespect.  Saw passengers bringing  back little gifts for staff.  Those are the ones I have respect for.

Ha, one of our 70 YO cruise mates kind of lost it on our March/April Regent  Med Cruise.  It was the the ships first time to sail since Covid and there were all kinds of problems.  The worst was the lack of employees.  They explained that many expected people were not allowed to leave their country or enter Italy.  Almost all employees were new.The dinner was so slow.  It was 8 pm before they served it, and everyone was served almost at the same time.

When we finished our friend  (who has been on only one cruise about 20 years ago) stopped the waitress as we were walking out and loundly told her "that was the worst service I have ever had".  He wouldn't stop until I said "Joe, you are complaining to the wrong person.  The restaurant manager has an office nearby, and he will listen to you like he will listen to others tonight."

He did not speak with the restaurant manager, but about an hour later we recieved a call in our cabin, and it was the restaurant manager.  He gracefully opologized. My DW told him that we were not the one's so upset. She gave him the cabin number of of friends.

To be clear, it was a miserable dinner that evening. Still, that cruise the best food we have had at sea.

Everything improved daily. The workers wanted to learn their job and please their customers.

Today was the first time I listened to their Blog.  I enjoy some blogs but found I had to listen to 3/4 of the clip advertising and desire to hit x numbers of followers.    Some here really enjoy them.

I did see there room when doing laps inside.

St John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador

8/27/2022

Beautiful day and hot in the sun.  The shorts come out tomorrow.

We had a late breakfast in Retreat and finally went ashore at 11:30 after our walks.

last time it was cold and overcast.  Totally different feeling.
