I didn't care for the baked Alaska either.  Miss the days of the parade and how they made it back then.

I wish I could take credit, it's been very hot and muggy the last week or so but today seems like a really nice balanced day.  Thanks for touching down in our city 🙂

We had a fun day.    I planned to go to Georges Island today.     Unfortunately it is only open on weekends.   I could probably swim across from the ship in 10 minutes but......

Our waiter, Andy, on this cruise has been with Celebrity for 23 years.   We have often reminisced about the Good Old Days.    Remember the display tray of deserts?

We went ashore around 10 to be met by beautiful mild temps.   Perfect for exploring.  There is a Holland American ship in port today so was busy.

We walked along the waterfront in our quest to go to George’s Island, only to find it was closed except on weekends.

lots of street performers to make it festive

This is a great picture of you two. You both looked relaxed and like you are really enjoying the day!

Halifax is a very relaxing town.   Next week we are taking a tour with someone from our roll call to Peggy's Cove.    Iain talked to someone that took the Celebrity to Peggy's Cove today and said the town was mobbed with 2 ships in port.

If it happened at all, it was in MDR.  Their cabin is 7137 which is not AQ.

Hi Goofysmom! Jordan from JJ Cruise here. Our original cabin was 9045 but there was an issue with our room. Given the sold out sailing they could not move us to another AC room so they moved us to Concierge with all of our AC benefits still in tact. The event did happen in AC, not the MDR.

Yes I do!   Also how they used to come to the table with after dinner cocktails.  One night the waiter came and made us an Irish whiskey, heating with flame and all.  Very impressive.

When I saw the cabin that Jim posted, I was confused.  They specifically said on the video they were eating in Blu.  Maybe they were invited because they're bloggers?  Could they have made up the story for clickbait?

Jim, just a little hint for Portland Maine sail in:  it is beautiful and if you get up early enough, you will sail right past Portland Headlight in Cape Elizabeth ……..one of the most famous lighthouses in the USA.  You should be able to get some great photos!  You will also see Fort Gorges in the middle of the channel as you sail in….another great photo and then Bug Light (much smaller)..

I am a native Mainer but we still got up for that sail in and it was thrilling….even though we have seen it thousands of times!  Hoping for no fog for you in Portland or Bar Harbor!

Have you been there before?  If not, you are in for a treat!

Thanks for the postings…..have loved all your photos and commentaries.
