American Express Carnival Cruise line offer- Spend $500 get $150 back

Hello Everyone.

Theres a targeted offer on some American Express cards for Carnival Cruise Lines if you spend $500, you get $150 back.

I have this offer on 2 cards in my house hold and I currently have a balance of a little over 1k for a cruise we have booked next year.

So im thinking I can put $500 on each card hoping to save $150 on each card once all is paid for and done.

My question is, can I use this offer to pay off my balance on a cruise that was booked outside these dates? The terms say "Offer valid only for qualifying Carnival Cruise Line reservation booked directly via carnival.com and by phone at 1-800-764-7419 between 8/8/2022 and 11/7/2022."

Obviously with these terms I wouldn't be able to use it since my cruise was booked outside these dates. However, Ive had success using AX offers on MGM Resorts reservations that were made outside the dates of the offer.  Does any one have an experience paying off a cruise and using these offers. Ive heard AX offers this at least once a year. So im sure someone here has redeemed the offer or something similar.

Thanks ahead of time.

Yes, yes you can. Those dates are only the time-frame to take advantage of the offer. You could also buy drink packages, cruise cash, pay gratuities, buy sundries etc as well as make a payment on a cruise. You are GTG, they only care about that the charge is initiated within the valid window, they don't care about the actual cruise date.

You used to be able to take advantage of the offer on more than one card if it was on both, but I believe they no longer allow that.

Something you might try for the people who DON'T have the offer is to add a bunch of the other offers to your card, (you obviously don't need to use them). Then refresh the page, or log out and back in, it should repopulate the offer list back up to 100 offers.

Who knows you might get lucky

What if its different names on the cards? I got the offer on two different cards, two different names, same accounts.

Your exactly right. No idea why I was reading it as the reservation needed to be made during those dates. Those are the dates to use the offer. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

You can try, but I think they changed things where if the accounts were tied together you can not do both; one offer would disappear. But, I could be wrong.

Anyone have any luck of the offer appearing after adding other offers to the card?

No, at one point I had added 192 offers to my card and 174 to my SO’s, and no luck at all.  I used to get the offers frequently (almost $2,000 in statement credits) and wonder if I have been cut off for using too many.

Used this to buy Cruise Cash (as my cruise, drinks, tips and internet were already paid for).  Just went online the $150 credit is showing.  Yeah!!  Extra Casino$$.

Did you buy the credit online before the cruise or on the boat itself?

Once. I was able to.  You can have countless unused offers loaded but it will only show you 100 at a time so add, refresh, add, refresh...

Checked our Amex's and we did not have the offer, even after checking all the offers (over 300) until there were no more new ones to be viewed.  I have had it in the past, and have used it a couple/few times over the years.  My guess as an example is these may also be in limited number, so after say 10,000 have added this offer to their card, it no longer shows up for anyone else.  So, maybe that contributes to why I'm not getting it now ??  In the past, some enterprising folks on cruise critic have been able to figure out the direct link and folks were able to use that to force add the offer to their card.

If you have a branded AmEx like Delta, I think it is less likely to be targered

Yes, it's a limited offer.  So make it habit of checking every few days for new offers on your app.  Once a certain amount of people put it in their offers, it's not there for anyone else to get.
Chase cards get offers too.

Yep, I've heard the same.  Mine's just regular blue card.
