I highly recommend the stop… it is very interesting!

Then I walked around and went down to the beach area for a closer look… luckily they are still in the jumping stage and not in the dying stage because that makes the water very stinky…

I did spend a few minutes here taking in the view and marvel at the salmon and the cycle of life … yes I did wonder if that’s the wild salmon that whole foods charges $29.99 lb

Up next the Sitka National Park / Totem Park … if you do this with NCL you will get a guide and be dropped off at the door for $79.00 pp or you can take the free shuttle and stroll to this exact same place and walk through it on your own!

With exception of Sitka we have very very early arrivals like 6:30AM and if you have an excursion you meeting time is even earlier… which is why the observation lounge opens at 5:30AM for early birds

The totem poles are amazing and through out the trail / park!  It’s even better with the sun out and not raining… which again is a very rare occurrence

Bears I doubt I will see one on this trip because I don’t have any exotic excursion booked and I didn’t want to go back to fortress of the bears here in Sitka again because that place is like a zoo for the orphaned bears.  You only need to see it once!  Like the Raptor Center !  Once is enough!

Made it to the other side where the Raptor Center is!

Walked all the way around and back at the visitor center once again where the excursion buses are … the totem park can be done without an excursion by utilizing the free downtown shuttle!!

On my way back to town I encountered a mermaid … because there’s not enough wild life in Sitka … we have to bring in fictional ones …

Now to explore the downtown charming shops …  unlike in Europe where I wanted to buy everything… there was nothing that I really wanted at all… plus everything was expensive for souvenirs and I didn’t feel like spending money to buy something to add to my pile of “stuff” at home I didn’t unwrap yet…

Its 5:35 PM and we are looking for two guests… all aboard was 5:30PM … they are making announcements every minute now
