You are kidding of course. Company is basically bankrupt.

I bought shares in company and have already some $700 in OBCs

I took the money and bought a stock that pays a solid dividend. I get over $300 a year to spend as I please, with who I please. I also don’t have to spend thousands of dollars on a cruise to get it.

how soon can you apply for the shareholder benefit.  Their web site currently says 3 weeks but can you do it sooner.  I have cruises booked in Oct, early Jan and late Jan.   When can I ask for the benefit for each of those cruises?

And if you are savvy enough, you can sell call options monthly with your holding of 100 shares.

You don't need any of that - just buy 100 shares one day, sell them the next (hopefully on an up day) and use the buy transaction to keep getting the OBC.

The online form for shareholder benefits permits you to submit up to 10 future cruises, warning  that that if you have more than 10, you need to use a second form.  Several days ago, I submitted applications for our next 11 cruises.  (yes, had to use a second  form....for the 11th cruise.)

I wish we had that problem. But we don't. LOL 😃

I applied for the benefit for a gratis Casino cruise and was told politely that it did not apply.🤪

I think it's YMMV......I have seen the 100 OBC applied for Carnival and Princess casino comped cruises...... because a casino-comped cruise is technically not a free cruise - the Players Club actually buys the room from Sales......

  • 4 weeks later...

Need some help folks

I applied for shareholder OBC for 3 upcoming cruise all on the same day a week ago.  Today I received confirmation for two sailings in January but not for the third which is three weeks away.

Any advice or contact numbers?

Double check your confirmation number and the sail date to ensure they are correct.

Just a question, what is the most OBC that people have received? Is there some limitation? We always apply for our shareholder benefits, but we have not gotten any credit for it on a couple of occasions. Like now, as we are on the Symphony Oct. 15 and have applied now 3 times via snail mail [like we always do].  We figured they might not like our August statement [to mail apply 21 days prior etc], so now we've applied using our Sept. Statements [both my wife and I own shares in seperate accounts].   But since sent in 1st of month, only a couple of weeks until cruise [possibly not enough time as they recommend that 21 days].

But we already has $100 OBC but not sure why [sometime our T.Agency provides and other perks but we never seem to be notified exactly why].  I think the fine print says the shareholder benefit MIGHT not be combinable with certain 'other' discounts or credits...but nothing ever explains exactly why one way or another.  All we can is keep applying we suppose.  We don't want to seem greedy either, but if the benefit exists and we qualify [and we can't see why we wouldn't]...well, seems almost on a whim whether or not we receive the benefit [someone having a bad day or something and our application gets thrown in the trash or something]?  There must be SOME reason...right?  Why can't they inform us one way or another and why?

RCL Shareholder benefits are now combinable with other benefits.  $250 OBC for sailings 14 or more nights; $100 OBC for sailings 6-13 nights;  $50 OBC for sailings of 5 nights or less.    Your snail mail may not be arriving where intended?

I guess we give up.  There is simply something about us that RCI does not like.  We applied twice through snail mail with downloaded application and our august statement, then once with September statement, and now through the online link given on this thread [that has up to 10 cruise entries??!!].  NO CIGAR. I read others here applying ahead for cruises months in advance?!  What's up with that since the instructions 'suggest' about 21 days in advance of one's cruise and how does one 'prove' they still own the shares?  So, we've followed precisely the instructs...as we have found them anyway.  It just has to be something about us personally?  Well, that ridiculous of course as we're all swallowed up in 'miles and piles' of datafiles.  10 cruises in advance??!! Really?!!

Submit your documents via Email to shareholderbenefit@rccl.com

ETA:  Have you checked your cruise planner recently to see if OBC has been added?
