I do know you have to own a minimum of 100 shares.

  • $250 Onboard Credit per Stateroom on Sailings of 14 or more nights.
  • $100 Onboard Credit per Stateroom on Sailings of 6-13 nights.
  • $50 Onboard Credit per Stateroom on Sailings of 5 nights or less.

Not sure of any other benefits.

It cannot be combined with any other offers as well…..it you have some other obc. RCL stock a great value at this time benefits or not.

This is wrong. The RCI stockholders' OBC benefit is now combinable with all other offers.

It does not matter.  You get the OBC regardless of the way you book the cruise, it's not a price reduction.

It’s really not a great value right now. 23-25.00 would be a great value.  41 is just ok.   Wish I got in when it was Covid low.

The stock was averaging high 90's and into the 100's before covid. It is still a good value now.

Like I said.  When it was 23.00 it was a good deal.    Now it’s just a buy for some.
it’s not done dropping yet.  Would like to see it back to 30. If not lower so I can get more.

If there is a casino comp or discount code on your reservation, the lovely staff of the shareholder's benefit department will deny your request.

Hi - I'm not sure what discount code would deny the shareholder benefit.

We booked onboard, got an OBC of $50 for doing so.

Shareholder benefit was still $100 added..

I was pleasantly surprised!  I thought it would only be a bump up to the $100 from the $50 - but we got the whole amount.

Happy Sailing!

I bought just after the COVID drop.

Considering I've cruised RCCL/Celebrity 4 times since then - $400 is a very nice return on my $2500 investment.  Plus I got $100 OBC on my next three cruises.

Where do you factor in the thousands of dollars you had to pay for the four cruises? Say, at $3,000 per cruise, $12,000, gave you a 3.3% return. Owning stock gives you the opportunity for an obc, no future cruises means no obc. Invest in a dividend paying stock, or a CD and the money comes in no matter if you ever send them another penny. This money can be spent on anything, not just the outrageously priced stuff on a cruise.

That's the wrong way to look at it.  You are not cruising because you bought the stock, you were going to cruise anyway.

You bought the stock. because you cruise therefor the $100 per sailing, in this case 4 sailings for $400 gives you a return on that stock purchase.  You could have bought any other stock and you would not have received that $400.  That $400 in OBC is just like a dividend except instead of being paid annually its paid when you sail which you would have done anyway.

Entirely different story of you had no plans on cruising and only did so because you bought the stock but we know that is not the case.

We purchased at $16 back in 2009.  It has more than paid for itself for just letting it sit there.  Just this year will get $650 OBC, and next year around the same.

You only make money when you sell. It could very well go back down. Last year I got over $20,000 dollars cash from stock profit sales and capital gains payment from mutual funds, and I didn’t have to fork over another penny although I had to pay income tax on it.

The only interest in obc is to cover gratuities, I refuse to pay the price for anything they sell on the ship. $100 obc  I would spend on the ship, domestic beer, would cost me about $6 at home.

That changed effective June 1, 2019.

I can tell you, from cruising 2 weeks ago, that the RCL stock benefit is combinable with other onboard credits.  Tip:  you won't be advised that the credit will be added to your account after you submit your application; you will just see it when you check your account after boarding.  It can be used for whatever you want to spend it on.

If you submit via the email address - they usually send you a new invoice showing the OBC (fairly quickly after submission).
