Cruise Stops in Orlando and Miami

For Orlando, it depends which ships are in port that day. If you are coming in on Oasis for a port call on the same day that Harmony or Independence is docked at Terminal 1, then you will dock over by Terminal 5. Still in the same general area, not like it's miles away or anything. If Terminal 1 is open, then you will dock there. Not sure about Miami.

We will be on the Anthem.

There is a PDF link on this page to view the upcoming cruise ship schedule for Port Canaveral. You can see which ships are in port on the day you make your call. It won't definitively tell you what terminal you'll be docked at, but can give you an idea if you are the only Royal ship in port that day.

Ships do not dock in Orlando.  They would have to put wheels on the ship to drag it 45 miles inland.  Orlando is not even in the same county as Port Canaveral.

Thanks for yr sarcastic answer but RCCL lists the port stop at Port Canaveral as Orlando.

Out of Port Miami, ships typically originate and end there - it is not considered a port stop with a few exceptions and emergencies.

That’s what I thought but we just booked a cruise which has Miami as a port stop.

Not sarcastic...truth.  Many pax are confused thinking they are going to Orlando...they are not.  And yes, I understand RCI lists the stop as "Orlando's Port Canaveral".   Orlando does not own PC, and is 40 miles away.  I am from there, and am insulted that our port is listed as Orlando.

Cape Liberty does not advertise they are NY city, and the city is within view of that port.

Anthem is doing it in April 2023. I'm on it as well. They do the eight nights when Royal wants to go from a Saturday to Saturday schedule to a Sunday to Sunday. This is how they pick up the extra day.

There are more than just a "few" cruises that include Miami as a port of call.

Could be but the “bulk” of cruises out of Port Miami are either originating or returning there.  Miami is the largest cruise port in the world and not considered a “port of call”. Just my TCW from a native Miamian.

No one called it an "island hopping POC." However, on the sailing shown above, Miami is most certainly a Port of Call by definition.

Yes - true but someone did imply there were many more than just a "few" and that it was a port of call (POC) when in fact it is a very small percentage of the bulk of the maritime traffic.

Yes, true that some itineraries stop in Miami but that doesn't make Miami a "port of call". Sorry

It is possible for a port to be a port of call, a home port, and a cargo port all at the same time.

Of course but the point is the biggest cruise port in the world has very little in the area of a port of call - that's all - 'nuf said.

Looks like we'll be at terminal 1 on the Oasis in October. Is there any bars/pubs within walking distance? Really not interested in the leaving the port area. Been there MANY times.

Bayside Marketplace (lots of bars, restaurants and shops) is about a 20 minute walk - better to take Uber there and back.
