Fort Lauderdale post cruise transfer

We are scheduled to return Jan 14 when the ship arrives at 7:00AM.  We have a 1:15 PM flight from FLL.  HAL transfer is $19 pp and we are three.  Would a taxi or Uber/Lyft be better?  We are not looking forward to hanging around the airport for too many hours.  Other ideas?
Thanks

Since all passengers have to be off the ship NLT 10:00 AM, you have plenty of time.  Taxis are plentiful but luggage for three might overwhelm the trunk. HAL transfer is a good choice.  You will be given a disembarkation window from which you can select a time that works for you.

Note that the Fort Lauderdale airport TSA checkpoint is a zoo on cruise days.

About $17 for a taxi. Use the extra money for luggage direct.

So, $17 for the taxi, no matter how many in it, or $57 for HAL transfers....that is a pretty easy choice. Just ask for a van or SUV taxi, the price is the same.

With a 1:15 FLight I would just have a nice breakfast onboard and take my time getting off the ship (last call usually around 9:30).  That way the crowds should be down and it will be easy to find your luggage!    There should still be taxis around and more will be arriving to drop off passengers for the next cruise, so should not be a problem.  As stated, get a van or SUV, which should cost under $20.

Once you are at the airport you might find long lines for checking bags and also security, especially if its a busy cruise  ship day (Sat or Sun).  Some airlines (like American) will not let you check your bags more than 4 hours prior to your flight, so check with yours prior to leaving on your cruise.

FLL has connected the various terminals by walkways after security, so you can have a good walk with some shopping/dining while you wait - lots of options now.

Thanks for all the good advice.  We will be coming off the Nieuw Statendam and flying Southwest.  I don't know anything about Luggage Direct and will check it out.  It sounds useful..We try to travel light, three carry on small suitcases and maybe one large one for formal dress clothes and gifts.

This announcement on my 2019 cruise might give you an idea of the program.

Sounds good and would make life a lot easier.

Glad I could help.  You should be getting the above equivalent about midway during your cruise as well as a notice where you can choose your disembarking time.

Your chosen disembarkation time and provided luggage tag color/number also determines the sequence that luggage is moved from the ship to the terminal so leaving the ship before your time is announced on the public address system means your luggage may not yet be in the terminal for pickup.

Tip:  There is a traffic island in front of the cruise terminal exit.  The left end of the traffic island is for private pickups and the far right is for taxis.

Ft Lauderdale to Miami Shuttle:

Can any one recommend a shuttle service that services transportation from Ft Lauderdale Airport to Miami cruise terminal?

Mentioned here quite frequently...SAS, QLS, Jiffy Jeff, GO Shuttle, a couple others.
