We will on the Ruby Princess next month SF -Hawaii RT.  What happens if one is tested positive for Covid and is isolated a few days prior to day of disembarkation in SF and still positive on day of disembarkation?  Are you allow to self disembark?

This brings up an interesting point since quarantine is not required on shore. Friends were on NCL and tested positive a few days before the end of the cruise. They had to wait until everyone else disembarked and then the people in white suits showed up to escort them off the ship and left them at the taxi line.

That sounds kind of pointless.

To us, yes. Someone from the cruise line apparently thought it had some point.  Maybe they were just giving the passenger special treatment and the only staff they had available just happened to be wearing the bunny suits.

So, what good is that?  Did taxi driver know?

So, NCL didn’t have to pay for a hotel?  Or were your friends driven home?

It's kind of crazy that they drop all testing and masks, etc.......but then want to isolate people.  And passengers want to be compensated for the time in isolation and hotels, food etc.

If they truly believe that covid is over (by dropping all the protocols it seems they do) then, they should also drop isolation and compensation and other procedures used.  It doesn't make sense to me.

Changing the requirements for who can cruise (I guess this would be 'dropping all the protocols') is not an indication that cruise lines believe Covid is over.  It's more about making money and their efforts to manage their risk.... often at the passenger's expense.

Good - I want Princess to make money so the option to cruise this line is available.

I have just got off a P&O cruise basically I tested positive on last day of cruise, I isolated on board for 1 week then 4 days in a hotel in Malta. I had no symptoms and apparently Malta rules are you have to isolate for 10 daysif you get Covid on a cruise ship but after speaking to the locals they don't isolate if no symptoms.,  maybe it depends on the country you are docking in.

Oceania, for instance, says that you need to make sure your insurance covers you as they will not.

Agree that isolation will probably disappear soon or at least go to the levels that norovirus and such have.

Covid will become a chargeable occurrence if you visit the medical center onboard, just like any other medical need.  No compensation for anything, and you better have insurance if YOU decide not to cruise based on YOUR own personal testing pre cruise.

Why is YOU capitialized?   I am not the one to talk too.  I don't expect Princess to pay for anything of mine.  I always get insurance and I follow the rules.  How about YOU????

Also, NCL lost the mandate requirement case in Florida (11th Cir. just sided with FL), so cruise lines cannot reimpose any mandates out of FL.

I am curious. Is this only for time in florida waters or the whole cruise?

Given the amount of coughing on our last cruise, you are in the majority.

I'm just being honest, I would wear a N95 mask, I would not normally wear a mask. I would be considerate to wear I sat Etc, I would not use the dining room. But otherwise I would carry on

You really don’t care if you spread disease ?

Oh, please.    On our cruises in August and September this year, maybe 5% wore masks.
This poster said they’d wear a mask to protect others.   If the rest of the passengers were worried about themselves they’d be wearing masks in crowded areas themselves.
