I can’t imagine that upgrading just to be able to buy premium wines makes much sense. Wouldn’t you be better off just paying the up charge on a class by glass basis for a couple of glasses of wine each night?

You make a good point,  and perhaps that’s the best move in this case.  But adding in the Captain’s Club discount and drinking at least two glasses of premium wine per night,  and one is almost at a break even point.  Not to mention the access to premium spirits and water as well.

I guess we’ll have to weigh the pros and cons.

Thanks for the information!

That’s the usual winter schedule, think the question refers to the summer schedule, which Apex is taking over.

I just read on "Seatrade" that Apex is doing "a full season in the UK". Including a 12 night to the fjords and Artic Circle. That sounds great! It sounded like Apex would be in Europe F/T?

The problem with paying the difference is everything the glass is refilled it is a charge.  I ran into this during a chef experience dinner.   The server asked if I would like to try a certain wine.  I said sure and he poured a little into my glass.   I tasted it and it was nothing special but ok.   I am not a wine snob or connoisseur.   I said I have the premium pack is it covered and he said yes it is $10.  I said OK.   When my glass was getting low he would refill it.   Great service.  At the end of the dinner I got a bill for almost $50 for the wine.  I signed it and didn’t want to make a scene.   The next day I went to GR a and told them my problem as I told him that I had the premium pack and wanted to stay within it.   They removed the extra cost and honestly the wine wasn’t worth the extra $10 per glass over the limit.   As I said I am not a wine snob but that was ridiculous.

During lunch and dinner it is very easy to get 3 to 4 refills of wine and most times I don’t finish the last glass and the refills usually don’t  amount to a full pour.

Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Hey Cruisestitch,

I was wondering if there is a place to play pickleball on board.  The old basketball court or maybe a place in the gym?  My sister-in-law who is traveling with us next March asked if I knew.  I do not.

I will ask around but I don’t think so

@cruisestitchhow is the cruise going? What have the ports been like? Curious to know if you went off the ship in the DR. We are doing the exact itinerary in Feb so I’m curious about everything ship, dining, port and entertainment related!
Thank you and enjoy!

The cruise is going great. I am very much enjoying all the live music on board. Be sure to watch for casino happy hours. Sometimes they specify that they are giving out five dollars per person and sometimes they just call it a happy hour, but then they are putting out five dollars credit on your card. It’s not clear in the daily so ask every day

I can’t help because I don’t do tours in the Caribbean. If I get off I just walk around the town a bit for exercise.

Thanks for posting!  What did you do in Puerto Plata?  Did you walk around in Taino Bay or go into the town?

Hi a little off topic so apologies in advance! We are looking to book silhouette June 2023 from southampton to scandinavia. My question is I am looking at a balcony cabin deck 7 at the rear of the ship. Does anyone know if there is any engine noise/vibration in that locality?

we did mid deck cabin 7258 and had a slightly larger balcony and was next to the hub so able to go out in the morning ie 6.30 to get fresh coffee for the room

The awful music in Tuscan drove me out once again this morning.  It is so frustrating that they just don’t care.  I will try another complaint today but I don’t hold out much hope for improvement.

The music next door in Blu that I hear when I walk past is fine.  So why make such awful choices for Tuscan?
