The size the onion soup comes in which they ordered. 

 

@John&LaLasays he does it all the time. I've ordered a bigger bowl on liberty without a issue before. This time it was.

but, to humor us, I’m told to take our party to deck 4 MDR, and we will be seated at another table. I must admit I have a bit of anxiety about this…..will we pass “Linda” along the way to our new table? Since early dining is 5pm, and won’t be there until 6 pm, will Linda have already  left? I was hopeful that a move to MTD which is on deck 3, would assure us no further run ins with Linda….😫  

 

we arrive on deck 4 at 6 pm and we are escorted to our new table. I can see Linda across the room, alone at our old table - she’s apparently wrapping up her meal. We all tent our menus in in front of our faces in an effort to  remain incognito. 
 

The head waiter vibes over We learn our Linda has a rep in the MDR for being “difficult” . We have two head waiters and the Assistant dining room manager stop by to offer apologies. Linda spent the evening complaining to the dining staff that she was “tired” of dining alone. And guess what? Our friend Linda is doing a back to back……😳. ….. be afraid, next week sailing 

 

 

I agree it's not anything I like to be seated with a party of 5 family. 

 

And as I said when he came over I asked next week if i can sit with not a group or family.

 

Btw i ate in the WJ the previous 2 nights. Which is why we hadnt eaten together before last night. ... 

 

Because I received a item not how I expected ... just the poblano soup without the corn and chorizo I'm at fault? I'm as glad as you all not to eat together again. Who wants to horn in on a family of 5. Not me.

As far as when they set down the smaller bowl why I said it must not be mine. I honestly thought it must be someone elses as I'd asked for a larger bowl ... as you pointed out.

 

I saw mama mia tonight which was fabulous. Didnt end until close to 11 pm.

 

And come back to this. How do you react if someone sends a steak back? Iv never sent one back and have done 16 cruises since covid. Believe me I wished I hadnt asked for the larger bowl. If I knew it would cause such a stir I wouldnt have. I did say to the guy next to me, never again will I ask for a larger bowl. I was embarrassed too. 

 

And how fun to sit with a group who obviously would rather eat alone. Well as I said mama mia tonight was fabulous.  I was out late after the show. ..what a treat to come back to my cabin to read your comments. 

 

And I rarely ... once in 4 or 5 cruises ask for anything other than water. Tonight I asked for just water and they again brought a coke. So I just said thanks and took it. A few times I've taken the soft drink from my cabin and asked for a glass of ice, but I generally drink water. 

 

I thought about not replying, but I got tired of you going on and on about linda and then posting you were gossiping with the waiters about me being difficult because of soup and a coke. .. and I didnt ask for a coke that night, they just brought it. I would have been happy with water. I just asked for a can of coke night 1 ... when luckily we missed each other.

The asst waiter went around picking up the appetizers and got to mine and flipped the little bowl of corn upside down in front of me accidentally. So now I have a pile of corn and juice sitting on the table cloth. The waiter comes with the entrees but cant put mine down until the asst waiter rakes off the stupid corn into something and now I'm sitting there with a huge stain in front of me.

 

Believe me I was dying of embarrassment by then. Who wouldnt be embarrassed and want to just get away. I solemnly swear I will never ask for a larger bowl. I've lost my taste for poblano soup anyway for this b2b.

“Linda” sounds exactly like one of our neighbors.  A constant complainer that everyone tries to avoid.  
 

Hmm, haven’t seen her around.  Maybe she is cruising. 🤣

Yes the bowl didnt have the extra stuff and they brought cold bowls of corn. No chorizo. Corn tasted like it was spooned out of a can and cold.

 

I know I remarked it would be the last time I tried to order a larger bowl, and I agree I was embarrassed.

I had the same problem once. Pretty much same solution. Luckily we were by ourselves.

 

Don't give up on the soup and order the bowl all you want. That's a fairly inocuous request.

I’m just coming out of the woodwork to say that this is the best live review ever. Also, going forward, my poblano soup will only come in a big bowl. And all this time I’ve been ordering two bowls. Brilliant!

I was surprised by the 5 pm dinner slot. Usually if I wanted I can drop by the diamond lounge if I wanted snacks. Now both are at 5 pm. I overheard the diamond ambassador saying she is aware of the complaints, both at 5pm. She said rcl decided diamond snacks should start 5 pm and be consistent on every ship. It would be fine if they didnt have dinner at 5 pm. Earlier than I expected also. 

 

179 pinnacles, never saw so many gold name tags. Several said they got kicked from the suite lounge, 1 lunch 1 dinner allowed in CK. The top 3 in pts all over 3k. Pinnacles pinnacles everywhere. I think the most I've ever seen.

 

Great weather except a couple of rain bursts yesterday morning. 

 

Captain james will be back sunday who I love. 

 

Quite a few friends boarding sunday. Each set talking pay restaurants. 

 

Enjoy chops tonight. I'll leave you to your review. As far as the seating no one wants to be a 6th wheel and horn in on a family who wants to eat alone. Me either. And if i order something i agree with john, i have the right to say this poblano soup is supposed to come with roasted corn and chorizo. I went down special for that soup. Usually I prefer the WJ where I can sit and read a book and enjoy myself. We will see next week with friends. 

 

Finish your review. I'll quit reading. Dont want to be tempted to jump in. You dont need to hide behind your menus. I wouldnt recognize any of you from that one dinner if you walked past me. Sorry.

Other noteworthy news, or at least news to me is that Cafe Promenade is now serving branded Starbucks.

 

wonder how this works? Do your refreshment packages include Starbucks here, but not at the actual kiosk on the Promenade? 

 

As dumb as it sounds, yes. Your drink package covers the coffee at Cafe Promenade but not at the kiosk. What does cost is alcohol if you only have the refreshment package. My husband went at least once a day to the Cafe Promenade, got his fancy coffee at no charge. When he asked the at the kiosk, they told him there was a charge even with the drink package. 🤷‍♀️

thanks, I knew the kiosk was always a charge which is why I was surprised to see the Starbucks branding in the cafe. 
 

I wonder if that has reduced traffic at the kiosk. You’d think Starbucks would have objected to that!

I think the place I photographed might be new….Margaritaville  is still there, this place is between! 
 

Casino royale is VERY crowded on this sailing…..probably the busiest I’ve seen on any ship in awhile. Slots mostly, although the tables are getting a decent amount of traffic.  3 card hasn’t been too kind to me this week, hoping for a turnaround by week end  🤗- pretty sure the kids will be disappointed to get a $5 chip and a  souvenir yard glass from Senor Frogs for Christmas this year 😂
