Navigator of the Seas Mexican Riviera -- Ship time vs. Local time

Wondering about ship time vs. local time on the Mexican Riviera itinerary for Navigator of the Seas.  The ship leaves Los Angeles (Pacific Standard Time) and goes to Cabo San Lucas (Mountain Standard Time), then Mazatlan (Mountain Standard Time) and then Puerto Vallarta (Central Standard Time).  Does the ship time change every time the local time changes, or do they leave ship time the same even though it may be different than the local time in the ports??

When we sailed in September, there were 2-time changes on the way down and 2-time changes on the way back. It was ridiculous. 🙄

They  changed times during the March sailing.

Did Serenade PC then a 5, 5 and 4niters all in Oct on B4B. 11 times Changes in 27days. Even WJ times changed many times opening at 6, 630 or 7am on different days

This was 4 on a 7-night cruise, which just seems excessive. I know why, because no one can be bothered to wear a watch anymore. And they all use cell phones to tell time. 🙄

Yep. Same for our November cruise.

Ship time changes are up to the discretion of the Captain.

 

I am currently in the Navigator and the 11/28 seven day Mexico sailing we did time change 1 hour forward before Cabo and another 1 hour forward before PV, then 1 hour back on the last 2 sea days. In the current 12/09 sailing, same time changes will occur.

 

Captain James will be leaving for break after this cruise, so it will be up to the next Captain if he will follow. I have been on cruises with a stop in PV and ship time was not moved forward to match ‘local’ time.

I happy not to change the ships time, but I’m also happy to leave if people don’t show up back in time.

I can't speak to Mexican Riviera cruises but on our recent 4-day to Cozumel from Galveston, we stayed on ship's time (Central Standard Time).  Cozumel was one hour ahead (Eastern Standard Time).

We were also on the 11/28 sailing...did not make sense...2 time changes down, then 2 more coming back. Even the crew agree it's a bit crazy.

 

Captain James went home today and replaced by Captain Yohan (sp)...we'll find out next week what he'll do.
