gazzer159 Posted January 7, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2023 We have a penthouse on our upcoming cruise from Miami which includes an overnight hotel stay. Does Regent arrange the transfer to the ship and is any priority boarding available?

Consensus does seem to be that if you can arrange for Regent to take your luggage (check with the Regent agent at the hotel, who will probably be there the evening before boarding to check people in), and then take a Lyft or Taxi, it's more comfortable than the bus, but there is a bus. Your luggage will be delivered to your suite either way. I saw priority boarding lines in Miami for our Dec cruise on the Splendor. When they weren't being used by priority passengers, we hoi polloi were allowed to use them.

Transfer from the hotel arranged by Regent to the ship is available for all; normally a bus transfer; in some ports your luggage is transported on the same bus; in some ports the luggage is transferred separately. Priority boarding and early suite access is available for named suites and Titanium & above SSS members
Camillus112 Posted January 7, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 7, 2023 So, no priority check-in or priority boarding for penthouses...
GOARMY Posted January 7, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 7, 2023 Camillus112: That is correct. One is at the mercy of whatever Port authority handles the embarkation process. These folks are NOT Regent employees. Sometimes, it is hurry up and wait, and wait whether one arrives via taxi, uber, Regent bus, or shanks mare. For example: Port of Los Angeles. rcandkc Posted January 8, 2023 #8 Share Posted January 8, 2023 I really wouldn’t worry about when your suite will be ready. Have a nice lunch, a drink or 2, relax… 2 or 2:30 comes quickly.
rcandkc Posted January 8, 2023 #9 Share Posted January 8, 2023 Penthouse suites are in line with everyone else so just luck of the line when you arrive…unless you have many many many nights on Regent. Good time to meet people in line. We have never minded except in Southampton this summer when it was very hot and muggy in the terminal and the port personnel were SLOW. Rare mj_holiday Posted January 8, 2023 #10 Share Posted January 8, 2023 On our recent cruise out of Cape Town the morning of embarkation we got ready had a nice breakfast and after we got our suitcases down to the lobby. It was either wait in congested lobby or wait in line to check in. We headed to the port and there was a line but nice weather and they brought out some nice benches for people to sit on. Once check in opened up, it wasn't long until we got to the front of the line. While in line inside there was an interesting display of beadwork and did not realize we would see beadwork several times as our cruise progressed.
