Thanks for that dissapponting we have to get off and on again. We will prob get off and have a stroll around miami after checking back in for 2nd leg.

Thanks again

If you are in Europe, you don't have to get off, you'll do the closure of one cruise and entry into next cruise in the theater.

We did Anthem from Bayonne, New Jersey.  Christmas 2021/New Year 2022. We were gathered in Theater then walked off the ship to the terminal. Stood there for 10-15 minutes and walked back on while ship was still empty.

Usually they give you the option of picking up your new cruise cards before the turnaround meeting.  This lets you get off in Miami whenever you want.  The escort process can take a couple of hours to wait for people to get off, be escorted off, get new cards and be escorted back on.

If you pick up your new cards before this you get an "In Transit" card that lets you bypass the checkin lines.  Only downside of this is that you can't get back on until boarding starts but if you are touring town this doesn't matter.  There is a free trolley that picks up near the piers and runs around the downtown area (actually more than one route).  Download the app and you get real-time locations of the trolley.

What is the app? Never knew this.

Thanks for info.

Do I need to notify someone that we are doing a B2B?  Would notifying the suite concierge be enough?

We never do. Agree with @BND. All of our B2B cruises we have the same cabin for both legs. When first meeting the cabin attendants they will say, I see you are doing a B2B or staying on with us next week.

There are many threads on this. I've only done 1 B2B, and experienced the last one, like @MommaBear55said. In my case it was last summer on Jewel in Amsterdam.

I think I can summarize:

TAD procedures vary by port/ship

You may experience:

  1. Meeting as a group in a lounge or venue, being escorted off the ship to the terminal, where you will have to wait a minimum of 'x' amount of time before being allowed back onto the ship. You will remain in your group and be among the first (the first?) allowed back on.
  2. Same as #1, only instead of a minimum amount of time off the ship, you just wait until the ship is cleared to allow you back on. Could be immediate, no wait.
  3. Meeting as a group in a lounge or venue, and the customs agent comes on and you may need to check passports or something, but he clears you, and you remain in the lounge until the crew member says you can leave.
  4. Report to the theater by 'x' time. You walk in one side, get your new seapass card and an "in transit" card, go to a security podium they brought up from where you exit/enter for port days, and they scan you out of your first cruise, and into the new cruise, and they send you on your way. You are free to roam the ship immediately.

In all cases, you get your new seapass cards, and they scan you out of the previous cruise and into the new cruise. I am not sure how that is done with #3.

I would only go to Guest Services to confirm B2B status if you don't have the Consecutive Cruiser letter by Day Five.  I'm on Allure right now for a B3B, and I got my letter this morning (Sunday was boarding day).

Why go to Guest Services if you don't have to!
