Good afternoon learned ones. I've booked the Amsterdam to Miami leg and was wondering if there is any way I too can avail of the 10% discount/$100OBC or is it too late because I've already booked and the category is sold out? Figured it can't hurt to ask those in the know. TIA.

Remember when I phones first came out?  😮 😮  New fad....thousands $$$  paid for them.

The original iPhone is an interesting comparison for a sudden and substantial drop in price. The original iPhone, when released, sold for 600 USD (which was high for a phone back then). Apple dropped the price by 200 dollars to 400 USD (33%) only two months later. The backlash was huge. Apple ended up issuing store credit to those who bought at 600 USD. (I think it was 100, but I don't remember exactly).

So yes, often price drops are 'too bad, so sad', but sometimes the circumstances warrant the company to 'do better.'

You would have to cancel andcthen rebook to apply thr promo code.  Since you miss likely booked non refundable you would lose your deposit or moving the reservation to another ship and sail date would cost you $100pp penalty.

The OBC is not for you.  It is for the person on the WC  that referred you

My post was more of a generalization of "poop happens" when prices drop.  AKA as commercialism.

If you really think about market pricing...many instances will come to mind. Pax won't get money back on any other RCI cruises after final payment at 90 prior either during price drops...which happens quite often.

But thanks for clearing that up.  😉

Well, officially doing a B3B in the med! 😁 $100 pp deposit secured and waiting for the $100 OBC per leg (nextcruise consultant said head office has to apply it manually for WC mini segments)

Thanks @John&LaLa

How did you get only $100 pp deposit and $100 OBC per leg?

They are asking me for a $450 pp deposit for an earlier leg.  Is it the number of days?

Next cruise gets a reduced deposit.

If you don't book at next cruise then sailings 10+ days are $450pp

6-9 are $250pp

5 and under are $100pp

How did that overall price compare to your full WC price?

By the time I compared it apples to apples, about 10-15 grand cheaper. But I couldn't get my big cabin back, so I'm keeping original booking. Some things more important than money.

The savings varied by your situation

If it was all about the money...as one individual we both know seems to be so concerned with (and is not even on the WC)....then we would not cruise at all.  We would just stay home and save those thousands of $$.  😉

I intend to deplete the nest egg...not leave it to others that did not earn it.  😄

Wow, it really seems to bother you that I and others ask questions about  cruises we may not be on. You really have to get over that, this is a cruise board where people post/ask questions about cruises.

Hi, as other posters have answered the reduced deposit and OBC are from booking at nextcruise onboard - for an oceanview category room. Lucky to have grabbed the same room on all three mini segments and on deck 4 😀.

By the way the next cruise consultant I booked with claims that balcony rooms are not all 'sold out' but are being reserved for full WC / expedition segments only.

If that is true,to sell those balcony cabins now for the full cruise they are going to have to reduce the prices you would think there is no way they could sell them as high as the early people who booked at those high prices.

Not with the way prices are now for segments.
