MN Syrup Cruiser Posted January 27, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2023 A question for any cruiser who has recently sailed on Grand Princess. Do the staterooms have the nightlights that are self activated? If so, where are they located? Thank you.
Rare LACruiser88 Posted January 27, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2023 We have not sailed recently on the Grand, but we have sailed recently on other Princess ships that have had the light sensor lights. There is one located in front of the bathroom door and at the base of the two bed side tables. Sometimes there has been one at the base of the refrigerator cabinet. They are usually very easy to bypass by placing some tape over the sensor bubble. We use black electrical tape (that we always have in our luggage), others have used duct tape, band-aids, and blue painters tape.
coo359a2 Posted January 27, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2023 You can also ask your room steward to cover the light which is what we did on our last cruise. Never thought to travel with electrical tape.

rjack22 Posted January 27, 2023 #7 Share Posted January 27, 2023 Why not duct tape?

Painters tape removes much easier and doesn't leave a residue. 4
Rare Shelly97060 Posted January 28, 2023 #10 Share Posted January 28, 2023 Not sure if they have them on Grand. We put rolled up pool towels in front of ours on Royal and that worked fine for keeping them off. We just lived with the one in front of the bathroom. Overall the lights are pretty annoying!
Essence08 Posted January 28, 2023 #11 Share Posted January 28, 2023 On the Grand in December and no, there were no sensor lights near the bathroom in our cabin. Enjoy your cruise!!!
Rare cr8tiv1 Posted January 28, 2023 #12 Share Posted January 28, 2023 Princess… if not broke….do not fix! Grand Princess does not have auto night lights. Not installed on most recent April dry dock.
nini Posted January 28, 2023 #13 Share Posted January 28, 2023 We were on the Grand in September 2022. There were no night lights. We used our cell phones to light the way. Many cell phones also have a flashlight app.
