RedneckBob Posted March 7, 2023 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2023 (edited) Thanks for the Fleet update and General Info SLC. Warning everyone. We have an error today. Peace Corps was celebrated on March 1, not today. Can someone call HAL and let them know. As a substitute today is also Alex Granham Bell Day, the guy who invented the smart phone. Remember his first call, “Mr. Watson please come here.” For which Mr. Watson replied, “You have the wrong number”. And the rest is history. Favorite cereal of the day is Fruit Loops. Go figure. Actually it does not help my figure! Edited March 7, 2023 by RedneckBob 6
StLouisCruisers Posted March 7, 2023 Author #4 Share Posted March 7, 2023 Good morning friends! Another fine day in store for us here in Georgia. It's 61 now but will be 77 and sunny later on. As I predicted to DH, all the lovely new growth on our shrubs will be killed by freezes next week when temperatures take a dive at night. Happens every year. Maybe the weather people are wrong - I hope so! Thanks to Rich @richwmnfor today's Daily and Fleet Report. Glad you are enjoying your wonderful World Cruise. Our special days to celebrate are National Cereal Day, National Crown Roast Day and National Peace Corp Day. I have enjoyed cereal since childhood and still eat the one I liked the most way back then. I don't know why crown roasts deserve a special day but I'm sure the Pork Council set that up. 😄 Peace Corp have my respect but I thought we had that day last week? Nevermind. The quote by MLK is excellent as usual. I'm sure the easy pad Thai will be good. I would pass on the drink and red wine. Prayers today for all on the Care list and for anyone who feels they need it. Hoping @Cruzin Terriis feeling better today. 🙏 A salute to everyone on our Celebration list. Enjoy your happy events and wonderful cruises.🥂 I hope Jacqui is doing okay since we haven't heard much from her lately here.🤞 Port of the day is Ulvik, Norway which must be located in Hardangerfjord. Somehow we have always missed that stop in Norway, even though that is one of my favorite countries to visit. Please show us your photos if you have any from your stop there. Rich presented us with this charming city before on April 17, 2021 and December 1, 2022. Here are the links for you. A shout out to @portofromewho always seems to reply to this thread about 1 to 2 minutes after it's posted. They beat you again @RedneckBob! Have a wonderful day everyone!
grapau27 Posted March 7, 2023 #5 Share Posted March 7, 2023 (edited) Good morning. It was 25°F and snow when I took Pauline to work at 7am this morning. My late dad was the only smoker so he had his own area in our backyard (photo)when he was at our house. It is sunny now and 33°F at 10.26am in North East England. Thank you Sandi @StLouisCruisers for supplying today's daily reports. Peace corps do a very important job. Roast pork is nice. Quality and longevity of life would be great. Prayers 🙏 offered for everyone who is poorly. I hope everyone has a lovely day. Graham. Edited March 7, 2023 by grapau27
StLouisCruisers Posted March 7, 2023 Author #6 Share Posted March 7, 2023 Thankfully it doesn't look like much snow there today @grapau27, Should melt easily. I'm watching Noordam in Hobart and it is late to leave port there and head to Melbourne. It's around 11:30 pm and it was supposed to leave at 11 pm. You can tell it's not moving yet because it shows as a yellow dot instead of a yellow arrow shape. Someone give it a nudge! 22
Rare Crazy For Cats Posted March 7, 2023 #7 Share Posted March 7, 2023 Good Morning, thanks for the daily fleet report. I like today’s meal suggestion when I can find it without fish. Most places around here include shrimp. I have cereal most work days, my top choices are frosted shredded wheat and cocoa crispies. Today’s the first of two in office days this week, at least they are still providing lunch. I hope everyone has a good day today. 22

Rare puppycanducruise Posted March 7, 2023 #10 Share Posted March 7, 2023 Good morning. Thanks for the Report. A nice winter day here, should have a high of 1°C (34°F) and sunny.🙂 I wonder if any snow will melt? A nice collection of days. Another big thank you to the Peace Corp. My hubby has cereal almost every day for breakfast. I'd love to have a crown roast of pork. Great quote from a great man. I'll pass on the meal. Hope I'll like the drink and the wine. We've never been to today's port. Thanks in advance for pictures. Prayers for everyone. Cheers for all the celebrations. Have a wonderful day. Stay safe. 27
Mr. Boston Posted March 7, 2023 #11 Share Posted March 7, 2023 Good morning everyone. Thanks for the daily report. I don’t eat cereal very often but for some reason raisin bran sounds tempting. The Peace Corps does such important work. Happy crown roast of pork? I like the quote, a fine example for all. I’m a sucker for pad thai so the meal sounds good as does the drink. I haven’t been to today’s port. Prayers for all on our list. Cheers to those of you celebrating happy events.🥂
Rare rafinmd Posted March 7, 2023 #12 Share Posted March 7, 2023 Thank you Rich,Sandi, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, Ann, and other fellow Dailyites. Peace Corps could use 2 days, a great tradition. The only cereal I have in the house is oatmeal and grits; if I get cold cereal on the road it;s usually raisin brand. I'll pass on the meal and love pork but do not make it myself, I have not been to Ulvik. I think I slept reasonably well last night, Roy
smitty34877 Posted March 7, 2023 #13 Share Posted March 7, 2023 Good morning everyone. It’s snowed a small amount overnight but only went on the grass and the cars. It looks very similar to Graham’s garden. The Peace Core should have another day and the cereal popular around here is oatmeal. I tried making my own pad Thai and decided that it was much easier to get it as take out. There is a Thai restaurant on our Main Street that does a great job. Crown Roast of pork is nice, again, if someone else makes it. We have not been to the port. I agree with the MLK quote. Today DH and I will head out for a consultation with a cardiologist regarding his prior CT scan findings. This doctor is a specialist in that particular area. I am hoping he says nothing further needs to be done. DSIL is staying with Tana while we are gone. He also works from home and can bring the laptop to our side of the house. We tried another aide over the weekend who was nervous about the equipment and how to help Tana. I could see right away that her anxiety increased Tana’s anxiety. We are working with some of Tana’s nurse friends to find someone suitable. It is a difficult job and you do have to remain calm or things go quickly in the wrong direction. @Cruzin Terri, I hope you feel better this morning but it sounds very painful. The medicine mistake in the ER would scare me but hopefully it won’t have any side effects. Take care everyone

cat shepard Posted March 7, 2023 #15 Share Posted March 7, 2023 (edited) Sandi, thank you for getting us started! You have taken such care of us & still shared your wonderful pictures. Vanessa, thank you for helping us to celebrate and commiserate with each other. This is such a safe place to vent and share - the good and the tragic. @smitty34877 Terry, praying that all goes well for DH and you today. @summer slope Dixie, I am so happy to read that Bailey is doing well! Woo hoo! This morning is exquisitely beautiful. I am so spoiled. I know we need rain & lots of it, but I hope it waits a bit longer, so that the bikers visiting can enjoy the great weather. Last year was not that kind to them. I need an Aldi run this morning, and then I will attempt my afternoon gym class - but I will use the back way. No traffic lights until right before the gym and no “temporary biker crosswalks” erected across a four lane highway. 🤞🏻 Wish me luck. Bindi walks, Emma walks (my next door neighbor’s dog), laundry & pool time. Sounds good to me. Prayers for all who need our support. Cheers to all who are celebrating! Get well & stay well everyone! ****** The Elder Pinot Noir Martinborough 2019 Rich, where did you pull this one from? I found NOTHING about the 2019 vintage using Google. So that leaves us with the 2018 vintage, and it is an excellent one. Good thing. A bit pricey online, but a few New Zealand distributors will ship to me with prices starting at $41.99. I am certain that shipping costs would bring it outside of my budget. @erewhon, I keep dropping hints that you could have a very lucrative shipping business, if you were so inclined. Though I will settle for you trying the wine and sharing your thoughts. Winemaker notes The Vineyard The vineyard is located on an elevated river terrace at the southern end of the Te Muna Valley, at the confluence of the Ruakokopatuna and Huangarua Rivers. The grapes are grown following organic principles in the most sustainable manner possible, with minimal use of irrigation. The Season A warm settled spring with no frosts and very little wind provided an excellent start to the season. The lovely weather continued through into summer giving us favorable fruit sets in all varieties and everything was looking very positive. February threw us a curveball with high humidity and rainfall was three times higher than the monthly average meaning extra vineyard work was needed to thin canopies and bunches. Overall a very promising vintage with bright fruit expression, low acids, and supple tannin structure. The Cellar All fruit was carefully hand-picked over two vineyard passes. In the winery, we destemmed all fruit into 3T open-top tanks, and fermentation started naturally from indigenous yeasts, which add to the wine’s complexity. The wine spent between 18 and 20 days on skins including punching down by hand up to two times a day, before being pressed to French oak barrels. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation in the barrel and remained on its lees for ten months before racking, blending, and bottling. Tasting Notes Aromas of ripe dark red berry fruits dominate the nose with hints of spice and floral notes in the background add complexity. Velvet soft tannins form the backbone of this succulent and vibrant Pinot Noir. Spice flavours come through on the mid palate along with rich cherry fruit flavours and underlying savoury notes. This is a superbly balanced, elegant and weighted Pinot capable of ageing for up to ten years. Edited March 7, 2023 by cat shepard 23 7

Cruzin Terri Posted March 7, 2023 #21 Share Posted March 7, 2023 Good morning, Thank you all for all your kind words and prayers. I had 9 1/2 hours of sleep last night. I don’t know when was the last time I slept that long. I still have the pain, but at least i know it is not a blood clot. I just have to have patience for it to work itself out. Taking my meds and hopefully they will help alleviate some of the pain. Work continues on the bathroom. The shower is completely tiled, but not grouted. Today they will lay the tile on the floor. Tomorrow is for grouting. Then it has to dry for three days. Next week the rest of the work gets done and then, maybe, just maybe, I will not have a parade of people in my house everyday. Again thank you all for all your kind thoughts and prayers. Thank you Sandi for the Daily and Fleet Report. I like cereal and eat it every morning except Sunday when we alternate between eggs and waffles and pancakes. Hats off to the Peace Corps and their wonderful work, and while I like a Crown Roast of Port, i don’t think I’ll be making one anytime soon. I will skip the wine and drink today as well as the meal. Have not been to the port. Good quote from MLK. Thank you Vanessa for the Lists and for including me on it. I appreciate that. Prayers for everyone who needs them. A shoutout to those celebrating and cruising/ Hope everyone has a good day and stays safe. God Bless, Terri 26

jayhawk66 Posted March 7, 2023 #23 Share Posted March 7, 2023 I attended a weekend series of FSU baseball this past weekend and thought of the many Canadian friends who post on the daily. There are a special group of fans loosely organized and known as The Animals of Section B who attend every FSU baseball game. Amongst their numerous traditions, they display the Canadian flag and lead the stadium in a rendition of “Oh Canada” in the bottom half of the fifth inning. Here is a link to an article with more information about the animals: https://www.nolefan.org/garnet/seminole56.html 19
