sgmn Posted March 9, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2023 (edited) Hi, haven't been on Royal Caribbean since pre covid. We use to be able to buy on board credit ($) in advance at a good rate for our £'s. Is this still a thing? Is it worth doing, rather than just use a credit card at our lousy rate 🤔 Edited March 9, 2023 by sgmn
Rare little britain Posted March 9, 2023 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2023 Wow! Good question. There’s nothing under Gifts and Gear… I guess call them. You used to be able to buy in $25 chunks as you say at favourable exchange rates!
icsys Posted March 9, 2023 #3 Share Posted March 9, 2023 To buy OBC we used to call this number - 01932 834 243 not sure if it still works though.
Rare FionaMG Posted March 9, 2023 #4 Share Posted March 9, 2023 Maybe you could consider getting a card that lets you have multiple currencies on it. I use Wise and somebody who posts elsewhere has Revolut. I work out roughly how much I think I'll need in USD or GBP and put that amount onto the card a few days before I go. That way I only pay one transaction fee and the exchange rate is usually pretty good as well. It also has the benefit of not tying up cash from your main account if that might be an issue for you. 1
Rare little britain Posted March 9, 2023 #5 Share Posted March 9, 2023 I use Monzo, Clarity or my new Chase account - all convert fx at market rates.
