From the “Wasn’t Expecting To See That” today file:

Legendary Texas-centric purveyor of greasy cheeseburgers is teasing this in their social media today.

I’m genuinely intrigued to see what they cook up here.

Bet it's not for free ?????

When you make purchases, you get points.

You can redeem the points got stuff.

I assume that the stuff will end up including something with Princess. Maybe OBC?

Looks like just another "pay to eat" option on Princess.

I doubt they'll ever be another free option for food on any of their ships. They seem to be elimination the included things with pay items.

Whataburger coming to a Princess ship near you - would be my guess.

Doubtful.  Whataburger has only regional appeal.  Galveston would be the only port where most local passengers would be familiar with the brand vs. for example Guy's burgers on Carnival, where Guy Fieri has exposure across the US on Food Network.

I live in Texas and Whataburger is not my first choice for a burger

Id be very surprised if its a tie in, Whataburger are not really a recognised brand much out of texas

Think you're right. From the FB wording, looks line a rewards points deal.

As far as brand recognition. Princess went with Ernesto Uchimura for the Ernesto burger and at that time, there were only two Umami Burger locations. He has other restaurant brands and locations now.

BTW, A combo at Umami Burger is like $20. I really miss the Ernesto burgers onboard.

Closest one is indeed Jacksonville, I haven't found a restaurant worth a 5 hour trip for me yet and that's just one way 🤣

Personally I am not going to travel on Princess because of their hamburgers, especially if there is a surcharge.

For lunch the standard hamburger stand is good enough.

Maybe the Sun Princess will have one. Sad times ahead. Its no better than Rccl Johnny rockets.

Ever since they got bought out by a private equity firm based in Chicago, Whataburger has become a shell of its former self just not good anymore.
