Rare shipshape sam Posted April 5, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2023 (edited) Planning to go on a Royal Caribbean cruise next year and wondering about cost of Refreshment Package ( We have sailed Celebrity more in last 7-8 years, but taking our 7 year old granddaughter along with her parents who wanted to go too 😉 1) Is cost on a per day basis? 2) Can you bring 2 bottles of wine onboard like Celebrity? 3) Would a latte count as a speciality coffee and can you get it at Starbucks if that ship has a Starbucks? We are leaning on Mariner of Seas for a less than 7 day trip. We are getting close to Diamond Plus status, but won't make it on this cruise or even the next one. Need 22 pts. We are Elite Plus on Celebrity and like Celebrity. Do think that some of Royals perks are better than Celebrity like the 4/5 drink coupons/day for Diamond/Diamond Plus. On other hand, I can bring 2 bottles of great wine on Celebrity. Any tips would be appreciated for us who last sailed on Royal in 2016 ( I think) Edited April 5, 2023 by shipshape sam wrong word

They are listed with the full day price prior to gratuities being added. If you put the item in your cart it will show the full cruise price with gratuities. I don’t believe Starbucks is included. Thanks for info. I need to see if there is even a Starbucks on Mariner. Don't care about Starbucks, but I do like a latte in morning.

Oasis for instance has both.
SG65CB Posted April 6, 2023 #7 Share Posted April 6, 2023 You will have access to the Diamond Lounge which has a coffee machine. Someone who has been on Mariner can confirm, but usually it's a fancy machine that can make lattes - for free!

You can use diamond drink vouchers (if you wish to) or just use the refreshment package and get unlimited lattes at Cafe Promenade all cruise long. As someone else said, there is usually a machine in the diamond lounge where you can get free lattes and other specialty coffees (machine made) for free. The diamond lounge was out of order on the Oasis a couple weeks ago, so they had us getting free specialty coffees at the Vitality Spa instead (just had to show your sea pass)

Should be completed by now. Edited April 6, 2023 by Denversail
Rare shipshape sam Posted April 7, 2023 Author #10 Share Posted April 7, 2023 Thanks for responses and great info! 😀 We have been spoiled by Cafe al Bacio on Celebrity. Great selection of coffees/teas and lots of deserts all day long.

No, Royal advertises a corkage fee if you bring a bottle to the dining room, but, I’m several hundred nights I’m board I have never been charged, and I often bring a bottle to dinner
GEORGIEGIRL Posted April 16, 2023 #14 Share Posted April 16, 2023 They charge a corkage fee if you have them open it in the dining room. I think its's like $25.00 or so. If you really like coffee I would suggest that you purchase the "Coffee Card" for $31.00 and it gets you 15 coffees at "Cafe Promenade". That way you can save your "Drink Vouchers" for the more expensive drinks (alcohol, etc..) For RCCL a drink is a drink. You just need to let the waiter/bar tender know that you want to pay for the drink (ex. water, soda, etc.) and not to use a "Voucher" for it. Much better deal if you do it that way. Yes, the cost of the drink packages is per day... Typically there is no corkage fee if you open the bottle yourself in your cabin. Just bring you own corkscrew and ask for a couple of wine glasses from either your cabin steward or at any bar.

Nope, this states one bottle per adult of drinking age: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/onboard-alcohol-guest-policy

Corkage fee has absolutely nothing to do with who actually opens the bottle - it is a charge made for bringing a bottle of wine to a venue where it is normally sold, just like in a restaurant. Having said that, I have yet to read a report of anyone actually having incurred the charge in the dining room.

tinykygal Posted April 28, 2023 #23 Share Posted April 28, 2023 Thank you! I just saw that Coffee Card for $31. Not bad. We have never purchased a "drink pkg" as the bottle we bring on board or a few glasses of wine at the bars are much cheaper than that for us.
