Also on Silhouette, check out Craft Social if you are a bourbon fan, many decent selections ( alas, all over the Premium Selection limit), including Knob Creek 9 year, Old Forrester 1920, and Makers Mark 101. ( I have tried them all, all worth it )…

Day 3 Recap

Cafe al Bacio:  Decided I would try the sit down Cafe al Bacio experience.  Cafe americano and two chocolate croissants.  Ordered a second coffee to go. ($12, no beverage package)

🏋🏻 Gym:  Hit my daily 3.5 miles power walk.  Started watching The Night Agent on Netflix, and so far I really like it.  Outside the gym is a lemon, lime and orange infused iced water dispenser.  Very cold and refreshing after.

🍣 Sushi on Five:  I scoped out the menu and narrowed down the list of items I wanted to try throughout the cruise.  I ordered everything at one time.  Edamame, homemade lobster & shrimp wontons, the rainbow roll with tuna, king crab and avocado only, jalapeño slices on the side (extra heat) and the fresh wasabi (the root prepared table side).  The fresh wasabi is something unique to Sushi on Five versus Raw on Five.

🍨 Gelato on Deck 5:  I spy pistachio today. 👀

🏊‍♂️ Pool Deck:  Realizing I haven’t even seen the pool deck I decided to do a full walk of deck 14 and 15.  Need to do some research on lunch at The Porch.  Looks very nice and open air with sheets of glass surrounding the seating with small distances between for measured airflow.  After I found a nook between the pool deck and solarium that offers large comfortable cushioned seating.  Think I could nap here.

🍸 Martini Bar: I-Putu got me my usual sitting across at a quieter spot.

🍽️ OVC: Quick dinner after yesterday’s Murano.  Nachos and pizza was the choice.  The offerings were a little sparse IMO.

🎲 Casino: Had a good time playing craps.  Lost a little, then moved to roulette to use the three match plays I received.  I hit #10 (month our kids were born) and ended the night and the trip -$75 including drink and dealer tips.

We arrived at Bermuda and I am eating breakfast in the MDR before heading out on my fish sandwich quest.  Cheers from the Silhouette!

Nice bourbon collection! How much is a pour of EHT? How about Irish? Haven’t seen Redbreast in the past.

Here is a picture of the bourbon selections and prices.  Cheers!

Who is the Captain and who is Cruise Director aboard Silhouette currently?  Will they be staying once across the pond?

Embarrassingly, I had to look this up in the first Celebrity Today.  Captain Georgios Latrou and Cruise Director Mike.  Have not heard of their plans.  Cheers!

I’m suffering from post-cruise blues, so I’m following along on your travels. I enjoy the way you’ve organized your daily summaries!

Much appreciated.  I decided to upgrade my organization for this thread. 😃  Cheers!

Day 4 1/2 Recap

🍽️ MDR:  Started the day off with eggs, bacon, sausage, chocolate croissant, orange juice and coffee.  The eggs were cooked perfectly again, impressed.  Really needed to go lighter…

🚢 Port:  My mission today is a fish sandwich at Woody’s, a first time experience. Reading online it doesn’t serve lunch until 11:30AM. As such, I have decided to walk around the port area and found a shaded bench looking out at the water and all the boats.  It’s a sunny day with a temperature of 68 degrees. It is perfect weather for me.  We were here July 2022 and it was very warm and humid, a stark difference.

🍽️ Woody’s:  Being Sunday, they serve breakfast (once a week).  Because they have to change out the oil in the fryer, they do not start lunch until 1:30PM. 120 minutes to kill, so I had a swizzle, the local rum drink.  The bartender, Beverly-Ann, gave me a great update of the happenings on the island which made the time pass a little faster.  During my wait this lonely rooster kept giving me the evil eye (see picture). I told him he wasn’t 21 and couldn’t sit at the bar. 😂  The breakfast apparently sold out so they closed early. At 12:30PM people started coming to get a drink and wait for the fish sandwiches to start, really popular place.  You give your order and a text comes when your food is ready.  It can take an hour if it’s backed up.  Menu pictures below.

🥪  Woody’s Fish Sandwich:  Holy moly guacamole!  This is the BEST fish sandwich I’ve ever had.  Literally, if they franchised this recipe/place it would be a winner winner chicken dinner.  Incredible. Absolutely, incredible.  A must do in Bermuda now.

🚖 Taxi Back:  I needed to get a taxi back.  There was one at the restaurant with no driver.  Eventually someone (do no know if it was the driver) started walking towards it with a beer in hand.  I thought it might be best to find an alternative option.  So I waited at the road across from a bus stop with the most incredible view trying to hail a cab like I was in NYC.  After a number of no stops, one finally did.  The driver was an 84 year old veteran of Bermuda.  He said he had lived on “this rock” for his entire life.  He was a hoot and when I asked why he had $2 US Bills for change he said some “damn tourists” gave them to him.  Funny guy.

So I am back onboard to get some MAJOR STEPS in before supper at Tuscan Grille.  Cheers!

bnurick,

Could you pop by the iLounge before your crossing finishes please.
My iPad mini that I bought in 2015 has given up the ghost, so I am looking for another one.

It was 125 gb and because of the fantastic exchange rate, I got it for an excellent price.

I just wonder if they are selling new stock, as post COVID, they were only selling old stock.

When I enquired last August, I was told ‘ come back in September!😱

Day 4 2/2 Recap

🏋 Gym:  Got in 80 minutes or about 4.25 miles. Much needed after the fish sandwich experience.

🍸 Martini Bar:  Skipped my lychee martini routine.  Will have to let I-Putu know there was not an issue.

🍽️  Tuscan Grille:  What. An. Experience.  A total contrast to our Summit visit, this was the memory I had from the Reflection.  I brought my own bottle of wine ($25 corkage).  For supper I ordered calamari, a caesar salad with light dressing they offered to make for me as I do not care much for anchovies, the pappardelle with short rib, one meatball, eggplant parmesan and no dessert (stuffed).  The staff was so kind I asked for everyone’s name so I can include with my final survey.  Also, I showed up an hour early and they allowed me to sit since there was an open table, was very happy they accommodated me.

🎲 Craps Session:  No clue where they came from, but the table came to life with 6 players.  After some great rolls I am positive for the trip.  😊

Time Change:  We begin the four 23 hour days which I think will be difficult.  I moved my iPad to Nuuk, Greenland time this morning. 😳

🌊 Seas:  Started Bonine today as the ship is noticeably more rocky.

Cheers from the Silhouette!

Following your journey with great interest. Thanks so much for posting. A bit of a niche ask from me please. I looked at the Sushi on Five menu online and thought that there wasn't very much vegetarian (my teen daughter - not me!). She loved the veggie options for the Princess cruises sushi last year - any idea if they offer more options on Celebrity?

My thoughts are 1) I created my sushi roll and they made it for me. As such, I would focus on the ingredients of everything and try and create combinations that would work for you and 2) last night at Tuscan Grille they misheard me and thought I was a vegetarian and indicated they had options for.  So I am assuming this is common and have items.  Hope this helps. Cheers!

Thanks. Sounds like they have thought it through and my daughter won't just have to watch me eat lovely salmon sushi. Your posts have made me excited for my cruise on Silhouette in August!

Wow, thx so much for the Woody’s memory!  My late husband and I rented a 16’ boat for a half day during our stay in Bermuda and Woody’s was our lunch stop.  It looks the same as it did 9 years ago!  Who knew that a fish sandwich on raisin bread could be so delicious!  Thanks, also for taking the time to post.  I sure am enjoying it.
