Caps_Shield Posted April 24, 2023 #27 Share Posted April 24, 2023 The last outbreak of trichinosis was 1981 and that was with bear meat. I think you are safe. Unless to fix the bacon issue they started serving raw bear bacon. It used to be more prevalent in raw pork but that was fixed by what they feed pigs now. 3

happy cruzer Posted August 22, 2023 #31 Share Posted August 22, 2023 In general, Americans like their bacon and their eggs overcooked compared to other countries. Can't please all the people all the time 🙂

Every now and then I LOVE my bacon like this. I hate how the bacon is usually so overcooked it is hard as a rock and beyond too crispy. I would take mine like this all day long 😁

I am surprised that none of the Brits sailing out of Dover have started a thread complaining about how horribly crispy the bacon is on the Pride! Chief93 Posted August 23, 2023 #41 Share Posted August 23, 2023 Anyone besides me remember an awesome British cooking show called Two Fat Ladies? They referred to that kind of bacon as "streaky bacon" or "American style bacon," and always cooked it exactly like that. It was an awesome show, I loved that the older one would at times be caught in the background smoking or with a dram.

DeniseTr Posted August 30 #46 Share Posted August 30 (edited) Almost perfect for me. Bacon used to have to be cooked well because of trichinosis, but that has been wiped out in U.S. Bacon is one of those foods that people are particular about. I HATE well done bacon, others hate soft. Either way, cruise ship bacon is low quality, I usually eat sausage instead Edited August 30 by DeniseTr Issue
jlawrence01 Posted August 30 #47 Share Posted August 30 Wouldn't it have been easier if you had just asked them for your bacon to be more well done??

Softservekid1 Posted September 1 #49 Share Posted September 1 1. modern pork is safe to eat rare 2. there is no bacon shortage like Carnival claims. They are in massive debt and been ordered to cut costs/expenses everywhere.

They are in massive debt and been ordered to cut costs/expenses everywhere. So all they need to do is not serve about 75 billion slices of bacon and their debt will be paid off. In all seriousness, folks, the reason that they only serve bacon every other day is the same reason they took sautéed mushrooms and shoestring potatoes off Guys toppings bar. There was a not-insignificant number of people who were taking more than a reasonable single serving, and ruined it for everyone.
