15 Drink Limit Only For Drink Package?

Hi there,

We are going on our 33rd cruise on Carnival Mardi Gras at the end of May.

On the Carnival website it states we can only get 15 alcoholic drinks per day 😞 on the cheers packages.    Does anyone know if we were to pay as you go without a drink package if we would be able to each drink more than 15 alcoholic drinks per day?

Has anyone ever exceeded 15 alcoholic beverages on the drink package?  What was the experience?

Thanks again!

You will be cut off after you order your 15th drink. There may be some exceptions for a bottle of wine or a bucket of beer ordered earlier in the day. Once you start getting close to the limit, the number of drinks ordered that day starts being printed.  Of course, you can bring a bottle of wine per adult and order a bottle of liquor for your room pre-cruise. And maybe get free drinks at the welcome back party or elsewhere on the ship.  But Carnival is serious about the limit on drinks ordered, regardless of whether you have the drink package.

33rd cruise and you're unaware of the drink limit?

New to drinking? Maybe 15 is a good idea for you then?

Were you drinking MORE THAN 15 drinks a day on the past 33 cruises?

Pre-covid you could stop "using" Cheers and pay for drinks before reaching the 15 limit, bypassing the 15 drink limit rule which, at that time, was only for Cheers.

As an alternative since 15 drinks per day is not enough for you, you can choose to cruise on NCL, MSC or Royal, whose drink packages are unlimited.

Princess is a Carnival Corporation cruise line and also has a 15 drink limit.

Oh no way!!!  We were on Discovery Princess in Alaska and had no issues having > 15 a day.  That Medalion wrist band thing is the best thing to happen to cruises since E-Muster!

15 drinks is easy to hit. Spiked coffee, Mimosa, and a Bloody Mary and you are already at 3 by 10am. 2-3 beers at lunch, some after lunch frozen drinks on the deck and that's already 8 by 2-3 pm.
