myn Posted April 23, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2023 (edited) Hi there, We are going on our 33rd cruise on Carnival Mardi Gras at the end of May. On the Carnival website it states we can only get 15 alcoholic drinks per day 😞 on the cheers packages. Does anyone know if we were to pay as you go without a drink package if we would be able to each drink more than 15 alcoholic drinks per day? Has anyone ever exceeded 15 alcoholic beverages on the drink package? What was the experience? Thanks again! Edited April 23, 2023 by myn
Rare ibarrio Posted April 24, 2023 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2023 It's 15 with or without Cheers. 2
Rare lazydayz Posted April 24, 2023 #3 Share Posted April 24, 2023 You will be cut off after you order your 15th drink. There may be some exceptions for a bottle of wine or a bucket of beer ordered earlier in the day. Once you start getting close to the limit, the number of drinks ordered that day starts being printed. Of course, you can bring a bottle of wine per adult and order a bottle of liquor for your room pre-cruise. And maybe get free drinks at the welcome back party or elsewhere on the ship. But Carnival is serious about the limit on drinks ordered, regardless of whether you have the drink package.
n6uqqq Posted April 24, 2023 #4 Share Posted April 24, 2023 15 long islands per day and you can be buzzed the entire cruise 🤣 but that is the limit.

Maybe 15 is a good idea for you then? Were you drinking MORE THAN 15 drinks a day on the past 33 cruises? Pre-covid you could stop "using" Cheers and pay for drinks before reaching the 15 limit, bypassing the 15 drink limit rule which, at that time, was only for Cheers.

As an alternative since 15 drinks per day is not enough for you, you can choose to cruise on NCL, MSC or Royal, whose drink packages are unlimited. 1
bowlinmoe Posted April 24, 2023 #9 Share Posted April 24, 2023 Maybe get beers delivered to the room ahead of time to get around this? I would guess they don’t factor them into the 15 daily limit.

We were on Discovery Princess in Alaska and had no issues having > 15 a day. That Medalion wrist band thing is the best thing to happen to cruises since E-Muster! Rare BlerkOne Posted April 24, 2023 #11 Share Posted April 24, 2023 All cruise lines will cut you off when you get stupid drunk, 15 drinks or not, and it doesn't matter what the drunk thinks.
Rare ibarrio Posted April 25, 2023 #12 Share Posted April 25, 2023 15 drinks is easy to hit. Spiked coffee, Mimosa, and a Bloody Mary and you are already at 3 by 10am. 2-3 beers at lunch, some after lunch frozen drinks on the deck and that's already 8 by 2-3 pm.
pc_load_letter Posted April 25, 2023 #13 Share Posted April 25, 2023 I am in no way a big drinker but I can hit 15 pretty easy on a cruise. As others have stated, I can start with mimosa's, screwdriver or bloody mary and can hit 10 by dinner.
