awinte2 Posted April 27, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 27, 2023 For those who are waiting to hear about their bids. Just had our upgrade bid accepted 30 days prior to sailing on Majestic to Alaska. Had 5 bids in, obstructed balcony, balcony, obstructed deluxe balcony, deluxe balcony and premium deluxe balcony. We were in an entry inside stateroom that was comped through the casino. Got the deluxe balcony for a bid of 600.00 each. Would not normally bid as we are fine with an inside but we have done Alaska many years ago in a balcony and the scenery is breath taking so bid a bit extra for the deluxe and premium balcony as I new the ship is almost full.

Rare KarmaCruisers Posted April 27, 2023 #4 Share Posted April 27, 2023 (edited) So a $1200 upgrade?? that seems like just a normal price difference between interior and balcony, on an Alaskan cruise…. EDIT: just noticed it was for a DELUXE..not too bad then; I think probably half retail Edited April 27, 2023 by KarmaCruisers

Well done! That's cheap.. but possibly it's only a short cruise? The length of the cruise is very relevant to the bid - how long is the cruise? 🙂
awinte2 Posted April 28, 2023 Author #7 Share Posted April 28, 2023 Upgrade was for a 14 day Alaskan.
Rare iamaqt2 Posted April 29, 2023 #8 Share Posted April 29, 2023 That was a nice upgrade for 14 days. I was able to move from an inside to a Premium Deluxe Aft balcony on my upcoming Majestic Alaska sailing for 245 PP. That was for a 8 day.

Rare cr8tiv1 Posted April 29, 2023 #11 Share Posted April 29, 2023 (edited) Several weeks out, many categories sold out, losing hope for bid upgrade. But…..my bid hasn’t been rejected yet. Seems strange that they would not take me out of my misery and stress. Not surprised. Rarely win the lottery, door prizes, raffles, etc….. Why would they reject a bid when there's still a chance of last minute cancellations? Even if all your bid categories are sold-out, the chance is still there.
coriandre Posted April 29, 2023 #13 Share Posted April 29, 2023 On our cruise to Alaska on the Majestic scheduled next week, we made our bid in February and at the end on March our bid was accepted. We upgraded from a basic balcony stateroom to a club class mini-suite for an additional 265 usd pp. on this 8 days cruise. We are very happy about it. We made 3 bids for deluxe balcony, mini-suite and club class mini suite and got the club class. We wish it works for you! they can accept bids until very close to the sailing date.

cruzsnooze Posted April 30, 2023 #16 Share Posted April 30, 2023 Does anyone know if bids are put up for cruise tours? I'm sailing in May a cruise tour in a reserve class mini and would consider bidding on a full suite.
rbtan Posted April 30, 2023 #17 Share Posted April 30, 2023 We never bid. We just book the cabin we want. On Oceania they do have a upgrades available(if the ship is not fully booked) We went from a Ocean view to a concierge for $600 total. They give you a price & you either accept it or not. If it is will show the options available to you.
