Clear lanes at Orlando Airport Free Reserve Any experience?

I just made a free reservation to use the Clear lanes in MCO   Has anyone done this?  It says you don't really go thru the same lanes that you would if you have a paid membership.  Seems confusing.

You are asking about CLEAR? In most airports you are diverted away from the standard TSA Pre line, to a booth or stand where your biometrics are taken. If approved, you bypass all other lines and checks, and go direct to be xrayed.

It could be. People are getting off ships. Flying home from the amusement parks...

Yes, and our airlines moved us from a cancelled 5pm flight to a 1pm flight😱

I'm hoping our TSA pre-check status will help us at MCO.

Anyone know how TSA lines are at MCO on Saturday mornings/midday?

Even if you are the last person to board the last cruise line transfer to MCO, you will have little problem making an 1pm flight.

So I guess no one can answer my question.  I'll find out tomorrow

Just look for the CLEAR signs. There is someone there to guide you along.

Please come back and tell me if this, or the info in post #2 was wrong.

I went thru the Pre-Check line at Washington Reagan airport earlier this week. The Pre-Check and CLEAR had the same initial greeter. People were diverted into one or a second line. About five minutes on Pre-Check, about one minute on CLEAR.

CLEAR customers looked into a screen for biometrics while inserting their passport below. After the 30 second screen, they proceeded to the same check point as Pre-Check, and were waved thru in groups of 3-4 people for X-ray.

It looked like a pretty fast process on a busy Monday morning.

In Orlando I was escorted to the front of the security line, not sure if it was pre check or the regular line.  In a little tiny airport in Westchester (this is why I got it, it took an hour to get thru security there last year go figure)  I was escorted into the start of the Pre check line.

I'm sure most of you know this, but if you don't have TSA Pre-check yet, spend just a little more and sign up for Global Entry instead.  It includes TSA Pre-check, and you also get the benefit of Global Entry stations when coming back into the US.

Isn't Global Entry for travel from other countries into the US.  Not US domestic travel?

Yes.  But Global Entry includes TSA Pre-check for domestic travel with it. So you get both.

If I recall correctly, its $85 for TSA Pre-check and its $100 for Global Entry (including TSA PC).  So spend just a little more and get the benefit of both.

When you fly domestically, you'll use the TSA Precheck.  When you fly internationally and are coming back into the US, you go over to the Global Entry lines in the US Customs and Immigration (saving a huge amount of time).

Global  Entry includes Pre-Check for domestic US travelers.  Many credit cards and frequent flyer plans offer it, or reimbursement for it, as part of the tier benefits

Both can be obtained for free if you use certain credit cards.  Both require an interview and fingerprinting.  I fly once a year if that so the free one month trial for CLEAR worked for me

From what I understand, there is a major backlog on Global Entry applications (not so sure about TSA Precheck).

And yes, you do have to go and get interviewed.  Usually at a Customs location.  I had mine at the local port, it was pretty quick.

Regan national has the paid Clear only.  Orlando has both the paid Clear membership as well as the free option.  Op was asking about the free option.

Was this with a free trial of Clear or the free Clear reserved?

Free trial.  My return airport (Westchester) has the worse lines and pre reserving there is not an option.  I cancelled the free trial when I got home yesterday.
