I don't know how you have managed to handle all these events and take it all in stride, bravo!

All I can think of is if it was me my poor, poor husband. Because no matter what everything would have somehow, someway all been his fault lol.

Oh, and we can expect some considerable turbulence on the way into BCN. Of course we can!

Same reason Rice plays Texas. Hope your luggage arrives by morning.

Oh geez, traveling is so stressful these days. This reminds me of when Delta cancelled two of my flights, I got stuck in Detroit, had to book a last minute flight on American, that plane hit a bird, etc etc.

Hope you're reunited with your bags soon! Those first drinks on the ship will feel so much better when you can finally relax!

Could have been worse — at least we made it, even if our bags didn’t.

Thanks for sharing this!  At least their plane did get to BCN and not stuck in LHR only to go through the whole security and checking in mess again tomorrow!!

Something I had never considered was buying a bag to check in on return home at the end of your trip.  Packing that bag with the purchased stuff and checking it. Since you have already "done" your trip it doesn't matter if it shows up late at home.

The shop on the ship has soft sided bag that folds up.  One of our first cruises between shopping and alcohol I needed something for clothes. Bring it every time now and will use as carry on if I need room in my suitcase.  Have checked it too.

this just reminds me of the time my best friend's mom hit a bird (or really, the bird hit US) on our way to a chorus thing at an amusement park in middle school. it was loud and scary, but she just kept going. I still think about it frequently ~30 years later.  I'm sure a plane can handle hitting a bird 😂

1 bird could take out an engine. A flock of birds caused that US Airways plane to land in the hudson river years ago.

Manage your expectations on when you will be reunited with your bags.  BA have failed to invest in IT for years and their systems have crashed yet again.  Now that the systems are back up, they are concentrating on getting today's schedule running.  Dealing with left behind bags is a low priority (to BA, I know it isn't low priority to you).

When they lost my bags a couple of years ago, it was six weeks before the bags were returned to me

Morning CC fam - what a long, strange journey it’s been…. Waking up slowly here in Gava Mar…. Gathering all my documentation from BA (at least wanting that 75 GBP bag fee refunded, come on, that’s casino money!), trying to clear the cobwebs.

It’s 10:40a here in Spain, AirTags show bags still at Heathrow as of five minutes ago- but maybe they’ve moved towards a plane? We were promised bags delivered this morning, but he took the names of both hotels and the ship. That’s my other concern, we move hotels today. Can I assume BA is gonna keep THAT straight when they’ve been unable to do anything else right??

Logged into the BA lost luggage tracking site using the info given to us at the desk last night. The only hotel info put in at all was the Gava Mar, which we are about to leave. It also says they haven’t located our bags. I updated it manually to the new hotel where we’ll be the next two days. Also, I enjoy that my baggage tags say “NORTH TAXES”…. That’s me, huge fan of taxation

Shower gave me life. I’d love to change my contacts, but 🤷🏻‍♂️. B is getting every extra minute of sleep she can. Meanwhile, I hear tennis outside my window. Buncha Rafa Nadals around here….
