alanandpam Posted May 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2023 Since as far as I am aware Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Estonia are not within the Eurozone, what Currency is worth tacking ? I know you can use the usual cc cards in most places but some times you cant , any suggestions. Thankyou in anticipation
hallasm Posted May 19, 2023 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2023 Denmark and Sweden are not in The Euro zone - Finland and Estonia are in The Euro Zone. Bring Euro. For Denmark and Sweden use credit card (chip and Pin) - almost cashless.
CruiserBruce Posted May 19, 2023 #3 Share Posted May 19, 2023 Discussed frequently on the Northern Europe board, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/116-northern-europe-amp-baltic-sea/ As mentioned, credit cards are extremely widely accepted, and definitely preferred. Last summer we got $60 USD (minimum allowed on a ATM) worth of Danish krone for 3 days in Copenhagen. Worked very hard to spend one third of it. We didn't use ANY cash on cruise stops in Norway, Greenland, Iceland and Canada. All credit cards. 1
StollyBolly Posted May 19, 2023 #4 Share Posted May 19, 2023 There is always an ATM for back up if you really need local “cash”
Markanddonna Posted May 19, 2023 #5 Share Posted May 19, 2023 I just returned from central Europe. I didn't need cash but we needed coins for the restrooms in many place. Let me tell you, those ladies who run the toilets have NO mercy. Prague had a credit card machine for people who didn't have coins.

On the other hand, if the Baltic cruise includes stop in Germany, there for some odd reason many places won't accept credit cards, but obviously euros in cash are accepted.
