Yes it gets a little tricky at times. We are traveling with family, and we decided as a group to roll the dice and cancel our excursions and rebook at the lower price. My daughters family had no issues, but when I went to rebook i had difficulty finding my last excursion, and when i did, it showed sold out. I waited for a few minutes, and luckily was finally able to book it. Needless to say  it was a bit stressful not being able to book it right away.

We only had two sold out excursions on all four of our upcoming cruises and we did not want to risk losing them in the case we could not rebook. One of them was in Grand Cayman next month and it is one our granddaughter who is with us, specifically wanted to do, so no way I would risk it to save a few dollars. One thing I did notice as I looked over the shore excursions for this year, a lot more of them show as being sold out today than yesterday, so I suspect many people took advantage of the new sales pricing and booked them yesterday.

Agreed, I was in the same situation, taking my daughter and her family to Alaska in July.. My wife was initially pissed i had cancelled, and couldn't re book immediately, after the others had already rebooked successfully. I got lucky. .

Thanks for info I managed to cancel on line original 6 dining package, then went to re-book and said sold out!!! Panicked a bit then clicked on 7 package and got that instead which was still less than my original 6, so happy now😀

We too have done Aqua a number of times however feel the quality of food not up to specialist so prefer to get balcony dining package

Wow, this is a new twist on increasing base cost to offer a 'discount'.  The before 'sale costs' that I now see (USD$) are a joke!  Their system is clearly bonkers.

Yesterday, the pricing was actually 50% off of the normal price. The cost of a Premium package was $54.99 yesterday and now it's 50% more. This is absolute BS on the part of Celebrity, it's not like we didn't know the "normal" price to begin with. Congrats everyone, Celebrity thinks it's customers are stupid as well!

Called to get wifi and Elite 30 percent discount. The math isn't working. They gave me  a $12 discount off the total which should be a $75 discount when I do the math. Calling back and will wait again.

Went thru this yesterday with two different agents... after arguing with both of them and getting a supervisor I scoured the fine print and it sure enough, it says... Offer will not be available onboard and is non-transferable or combinable with Captain Club discounts or any other offer or promotion.

Ya I looked yesterday (same cruise in November) and seen that as well which makes this even more hilarious.  I looked for curiosity like most here and thought hmm not a bad deal, but I have the package included and only an upgrade 'discount' would be enticing.  So funny and sad.

Thank you for the update. I was told no 30 percent discount on my second call. I looked for fine print and did not see what you just posted. Must be hidden deep somewhere.

Although I was successful in cancelling and re-booking one of my excursions in September, it was also interesting to note that when I initially booked it at full price, the cost was $225 a person. Now, the new 35% off price was $207 with a "full" price of over $300. It's almost like they think we didn't remember the actual pricing before jacking them up and offering a "sale". I did save $18pp but it was nowhere near the 35% they said it was. What really bothers me is the drink package price change from yesterday to today....Celebrity has found a new low in scamming it's customers based on this alone. We need to flood the executive emails with the differences and have them explain that to it's lifelong loyal customers.

The fine print wording is so long that it is not easy to find.  I have underlined it in red--the screenshot is the language at the bottom of my Cruise Planner screen (Wi-Fi page).  If you click or tap on the screenshot, it will become larger and more readable.

See it now. Thanks for posting and highlighting the reference to it. Think buying a car is easier than getting a 'sale' price on Celebrity.

Also Celebrity doesn't follow their fine print.  Supposedly the Flash Sale does not apply to shore excursions on Holiday sailings and yet my upcoming Christmas/NYE cruise is littered with Flash Sale discounted shorex's.

Ruth, I think you were essentially saying this: the markup on Aqua over a regular veranda cabin is large enough that it is cheaper (or the same cost) to purchase a regular veranda and pay for your dinners at a specialty restaurant every night?  That logic is usually what prevents me from trying Aqua for the first time.

It makes great sense if you're zenith.  With aqua, I'd be paying a lot for two unneeded classic drink packages and two pitiful (useless) wifis, although you do receive two gratuities.  A basic veranda, gratuities, and dining in specialty every night, for me, comes out ahead.  If you're Elite Plus, it would depend out how much you drink.  I make good use of Cafe al Bacio in the daytime and only drink wine with dinner.  When I was E+, I found that collecting a daily supply of canned sodas/seltzer during happy hour and then buying wine by the bottle with the E+ discount was a better use of my money than a drink package that I essentially didn't need/use.  Right now the sale prices on dining packages are way better than even the zenith discount so I pounced on several yesterday.

Not meaning to hijack this thread, but we're very close to Elite Plus... are all coffee/tea drinks free 24 hrs in Bacio?  Not meaning any with alcohol, just lattes, mocha, etc.  Thanks for the reminder to stock up on water/soda during happy hour!

Yes, non alcohol coffees/teas are free when you're E+.  Cafe al Bacio is open from 6:00 am - midnight, or thereabouts.

I emailed both screenshots to the executive offices.....waiting for an awesome explanation.

Have you made any phone calls? Debating whether it's worth it to attempt to speak to someone through the Captain's Club

Anyone that answers the phone is just a minimum wage phone person, it will get you absolutely nowhere....actually, it will frustrate the bejesus out of you so don't even do it. This pricing switch, if it was done to facilitate 50% off, need to be talked about on every forum and every social media outlet. They will hear our voices....but will the CARE....probably NOT.
