Princess Plus

We recently cruised with Princess and the Princess Plus package.

We are thinking about booking for next year but probably won’t do the package again.

Here’s my question, do they ever offer special promotions or deals for that package or are they always 60.00 pp/pn for the Plus?

TIA!

I have never seen a discount but I have seen it included on some promos like casino deals

They play around with the basic cruise price to make people think they've discounted the package.

whatever they play around with on pricing......if I can get better perks for the same cost as yesterday, I don't care what they have done.

I'm still looking for the cheapest price without any package added in, which only confuses the issue. Their bottom line is to convince people that they need the plus package which I have found is totally unnecessary.

not sure why you of all people (7600 posts in 7 years) are finding it so difficult to find the cheapest price....if the packages dont suit you so be it....

All I was saying is that Princess is just playing around with their pricing in order to make people think it's a bargain when in fact it's just another gimmick to convince people to spend extra for the package.

It's sort of like my local cable company who bundles their poplar channels with junk channels that no one cares about.

Yes, they do adjust the base price to cover the cost of the new inclusion.  I've done the math enough over the years though to say there's usually a nominal discount though.

Using silly simple numbers, if A is $100 and B is $100 separately where total cost is $200 for both, and they run a promotion where A includes B, they'll increase price of A to $195.  Nothing major but if you're going to buy the package anyway, it would be silly to turn down free money. I could see how it would be a pain if you were trying to avoid the package from the get-go.

As for the need for plus package it's just math for everyone individually.  What would I buy anyway? What's included? How well do those match up?  None of us NEED any of the things they offer in these packages, but everyone knows themselves and not everyone who wants to drink on vacation is doing so because the cruise line duped them into thinking they need to....if we're going to buy them anyway, might as well take the cheaper option.  I'm sure there are some completely uninformed passengers who are unknowingly and unnecessarily paying for things they'll never use, but I think that population is largely not here on cruise critic talking about this topic week in an week out lol

If you're saying the the price from last week is the same price today with the Plus package now included, then it's a definite discount.

In the UK, Princess are currently offering Plus at half price for 2024 cruises. So while this promotion is not available in the US at the moment, there is a chance of this happening in the future.

Would it be possible for you to post the link to that sale in the UK?

Sorry for the off-topic post, folks but:

Ken, I had to thank you for the post on the X board about Princess doing the transpacific cruise in spring **and** fall.  I had booked an AI balcony for the April '24 Sydney to SF. Now, instead, I have the same booked Oct '23 for LA to Sydney. (Both booked as a solo cruiser)

I saved $4,100!!!    (and I get to cruise sooner)   THANK YOU   🤩

I recently booked a Mexico cruise at a Canadian at Par promo, and the cost of Plus was also on par, but not advertised as such! I only realized when I crunched numbers. It was a pleasant surprise as we weren't planning to get Plus, but at that value it was impossible to say no!

If PCL is offering cruises in CAD at par with USD, then it will include Plus and Premier since those are cruise fare add-ons.

I play around with a lot of online TA's.  Each one will have a different price, different promotion and/or different amounts of OBC.  I can frequently utilize casino offers through them too.

My job is to book the cruises as cheap as possible for the trip we want.

We always get plus, it works for us.

I'm going to see if I can get a cheaper deal using a VPN!  Thanks!

We do not book the packages, do not see the value in them. If others do see value, that is great book them. As for pricing, if you want the package, book it now, it will lock in your price. Because I believe, since this is a profit center for the cruise line, they will do at least another price increase. If you book and a sale, you can always cancel the package and rebook. Nothing is going down with cruise pricing, only up.

Not everybody, especially here on CC, but still quite a few I'm sure.

We all don't need 15 drinks a day to make the trip enjoyable.

You won't be able to use your captains circle account if booking in another country
