This sounds like every cruise line out there... including Celebrity... doesn't it?

I never said Celebrity had the best food, food reviews are subjective but it's fair to read both good an bad reviews.

Thanks, I checked here (low hanging fruit), first.  We join every FB sailing group we book; haven’t booked virgin yet

Glad to read a little less snark in your follow up comment.  FB has a general Scarlet Lady group not associated with any particular sailing.  Check it out.

Book a veranda and then use the move up to AQ.   You will not get the all included . For what is this worth we usually sail in AQ.   There was a cruise where the price for AQ was ridiculous.   We booked a veranda on the slant with a large  balcony.    Dined every morning in the MDR and also for lunch on sea days.   The service was great.   The breakfast menu were better and they served the same pastries at breakfast and juices that we got in Blu.   At the time there was a promo that included all of the perks for most cabins.   AQ was over $1000 more pp for 7 nights

Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Whenever I compare the least expensive balcony with Aqua (both refundable and with the same all included perks) for the same number of nights (or recalculated per day), balcony is only approximately $200 less (for 10-day cruise) per person.  Also, Aqua includes unlimited Persian Garden assess (SEA Thermal Suites on the Edge class) - price is around $400 (including 18% gratuities) for 10-day cruise.  So, for people like us (who use it every day for a few hours and multiple times during sea days) in the end, the balcony becomes $200 more than Aqua for 10-day cruise!!!

What you write is mostly true.   You have to do the math and figure out what gives the best bang for the buck.   As I wrote the price for AQ was way more than a veranda with the large balcony.   It was to our advantage to book the veranda.   Sometimes we will book a Suite because it is also works out better considering the perks, OBC, and etc.   There is no right or wrong.     The OP wanted to know how to book AQ without the AI?   Just giving them suggestion.   Does it make sense or is economical?   It is up to them to decide.   Some people are penny wise and dollar foolish and don’t look out of the box.   There were many cruises here a veranda or AQ was cheaper than an outside.    I am sure that some budget cruisers wouldn’t look at a veranda and tell the TA that they want an outside cabin not realizing they could get a higher category cheaper.

On one NE cruise a couple that was on the roll call booked an outside cabin that was on the same floor as the passport bar.    They liked it because they could walk over to the bar and get a drink to bring  back to the room or hang out  while the other was getting ready for dinner.   They got a fee upgrade to CC and had mixed emotions.   They said that the balcony didn’t do anything for them because it was too cold to use  and missed the close location of the bar.   The perks with CC was basically useless to them.   The embarkation lunch didn’t exist at the time.   They also had all 4 perks that was the promo at the time.

Great to hear positive reviews of the Eclipse.  I'll be sailing in Aug.  Would you mind adding your thoughts to this other thread I started about the Eclipse in Alaska?

I usually get a lot of backlash when I say the partial refurbs performed on the S-Class are ridiculous, but I say it again. When I stay on a deck in my CC stateroom and go visit fellow cruises one deck below, I am sitting in some outdated redish thing that feels like I am sitting inside a 90s carpet store.

Our leather like sofa which was dirty and had a hole was replaced with the reddish carpet looking thing.  I was told it was brand new. I said I would rather have the damaged leather sofa at least I can make sure it’s clean with Clorox wipes.  I am taking Lysol spray on my next cruise if fabric sofas are the new norm. Again, we were in  concierge aft on deck 11.

We all understand that the full Revolution was ongoing until the pandemic shut down cruising (and income).  Hopefully Celebrity will get back to it on the remaining M-Class and S-Class ships now that cruise line income is returning- but the debt is still massive.  For those that want better (newer) furniture and amenities, there is E-Class for now.

I understand the debt and monies are major issues.  I think there are things that could be considered to cut cost.  I would like to know how many drink the sparking wine and eat the afternoon treats delivered each afternoon.  I know that we never use these amenities.

Sparkling wine and afternoon treats ?  Every afternoon?  Maybe in a few high end suites only.

Concierge cabin

We’ve never been given wine in concierge.  Afternoon cheese and biscuits or canapés which I agree for many won’t be eaten but won’t save them much in the overall scale of things I wouldn’t have thought.

Just so you know with regards to Aqua cabins, we used to get the sparkling wine and the daily afternoon canopies as recently as last August when we were on the Summit for 24 days. However, on our recent Eclipse cruise in April, the afternoon canapés were no longer offered to Aqua cabins (just Concierge), and the sparkling wine was only available "on request". We didn't know about the new "on request" requirement until midway through our 3rd leg of our 33-day B3B. So there were some cost cutting measures taken after the first of the year as you suggested.

It looks like the Concierge cabin guests now have to "request" their bottle of sparkling wine as well. Of course, if you didn't know you have to ask, like probably most, I guess they won't be getting it either.

Neither of us drink wine Ken but thanks for pointing it out. Had it been a few bottles of cider my husband will have been taking full advantage next time and asking for it backdating😄

I used to ask our steward if we could switch it for a bottle of red or white wine, and they were always able to do so. Maybe they'll switch it for a bottle of cider if your husband asks nicely? You never know unless you ask the question. 😉

Can someone currently or recently on Eclipse give me some feedback on using OBC in the casino.  Specifically:

Do you have to go to the cashier?  And if so, is there a minimum and maximum amount and do you need to use it all before you can cash out?

If you can do it from the machine - same question as to whether you need to use all you've downloaded before you can cash out.

I know this varies by ship but don't recall how Eclipse handles it.  TIA

I’m sorry to say that this but I hate this thread. It is too depressing with all the negative comments. I’m thoroughly tired of it. I enjoyed our time  the Eclipse last October.

But you read he entire thread and now contribute to the thread. 🙃

Glad you enjoyed your time last Oct.  We also enjoyed our time in May, but would liked to have had a pristine stateroom. This tread was started to help resolve issues so others could have a positive experience.

We just got off on Sunday, you can use as much as you want, either from the machine or the cashier.
