It is 0% discount but you can still use the credit to take it.

Did  you convert  to SM  or book a new cruise under the new SM program?

 

It is going to take  a bit of time for  things to be sorted out

I really don’t understand this it will take a bit of time to be sorted out thinking,sorry.  I love Oceania cruises but wow they have serious issues with customer service and their system.  You simply should not roll out a program if your system is no way capable of handling it. If not, then you delay the roll out until the IT department can get it running properly to handle the updates and have your website information updated to match the new program. That is what testing is all about before system updates.

No comparison. O’s tours are shorter, large groups, trinket stops, jewelry factories, restaurants filled with other tour groups and more expensive.

Time will tell how it all plays out

I really don’t see in the Terms and Conditions that it states the credit can be used in ANY excursion.  In their roll out announcements they say that but yet in the T and C, nothing.  So, which is it? Just wait some more until THEY figure it out. Just a bit frustrating. Again, don’t roll it out if you are not ready.  JMHO

Sorry was not referring to the IT dept

 If you wait for them to get things working properly  it could years & the program will have changed by them 😉

I recall when Azamara was spun off from Celebrity, to expand parent RCCL’s market coverage.  But why did they end up divesting it?

Subsequently, they acquired Silversea, but they are more like Regent’s niche.

The SM shore excursion credit is applied to the bottom line cost of what ever excursions you choose.  The Simply More Shore Excursion Package replaces the YWYW excursion package of the past where you receive a discount for booking several excursions.  The Unlimited package price is the price if you have purchased the Unlimited Package......I believe your screen shot is a glitch as the price is the same for every option..  Here is one example from one of our upcoming cruises;

This is cruise only, no air, least expensive outside cabin, per person. This is how I cruise with Oceania.

1. Nov. 6, 2023 Nautica 12 days BCN-BCN

original price $2799 SM price $3339 19% increase +$540

 

2. Nov. 13, 2023 Marina 7 days BCN-LIS

original price $2199 SM price $2499 14% increase +$300

 

3.Dec. 1, 2023 10 days MIA-MIA

original price $2499 SM price $2899 16% increase +$400

$1800 more for one person or two? Compared to what? Was your booked price part of a promotion? Did it have some special credits? 

 

The only apples to apples comparison is comparing the full price on 5/31 to the new SM price.

 

Can you tell me what the full price was on 5/31 and what is the price now?

What is the original price? Was it what you paid or was it the full price on 5/31?

 

But even if this was the full price, for the first 3 cruises it's an increase of $40-45 per day. Which means that you basically get 2 amenities for the price of one, plus the second WiFi.

 

The fourth cruise might be an anomaly, or maybe the original price was a promotion?

That’s another consideration when deciding if SM is cost effective for me or not.

 

What existing SBC are you discussing?  If it was SBC from a promotion and you are now switching to SM, then yes you give up the amenities of your old promotion.  This is the same as before, booked under Extraordinary Savings and then switch to 4 category upgrade - you lose the amenities of ES and gain the amenities if the 4 category upgrade.  If you are talking about loyalty SBC or TA given SBC then you keep those,.

$7398 for 2.  This does not include any on board booking discount or TA amenity or shareholder shipboard credit

All prices are in CAD for 10 nights sailing (except for the second one). Average increase of $40 USD per night.

 

And this is the only relevant comparison to determine the real price increase.

 

Comparing to the original price paid is relevant only to decide if it's worth to switch to SM.

$7398 was the full price for 2 on 5/31? And what is the current price? Which sailing?

A couple questions - is your original pricing the old OLife cruise only (which I believe is how you book)?  Is the pricing when you booked or last week?   In order for someone to correctly understand your example, these are important details.

 

When I compared the 5 cruises we have booked for the future, I wrote down the pricing for those cruises with OLife from last week,  The pricing on several of our cruises had already increased plus we had booked 2 under Extraordinary Savings so that also effected our pricing..   The pricing had increased minimally or not at all when compared to recent pricing but on some of our booked cruises had gone up much more.   

 

Obviously if you booked using "old cruise only" then the SM new pricing will be an increase, just as when you compared "Cruise only" with OLife, Cruise Only was less expensive before SM.

And lets all make sure to tap the breaks a little here.  While updated internet is being rolled out throughout the fleet, it will not be completed by October 1sr.  As many threads here indicate, internet was slow when there was only one per cabin (for most cabins.). I think that at least until Star link is installed on your cruise ship, the internet will actually be worse.  Maybe not and of course we only have a small sampling of the new system as well.  Just saying, lets not expect miracles immediately just because you book with SM.

And now a second WIFI login is an amenity for those with SM,....for those on OLife then they receive the general amenity for all of 1 WIFI login..,
