Good Sunday morning.   The badly needed rain continued through the night.   More due today and tomorrow.

Thanks for the Daily reports Rich. I live in a log cabin 4 months of the year and remainder I wish I was a seafarer. Pass on catfish and salmon and the sweet drink but we love NZ Sauvignon Blanc.  Thanks for researching these for us each day, @summer slope, @cat shepard and @dfish.

Thanks for keeping up the Cares and Celebrations reports.  Prayers for @luvteaching and her DH. @smitty34877prayers for your DH today.  Prayers for all on our Care list and the people of Ukraine.

My foot still hurts, bandage change today so I hope it looks better.   We are going to Escanaba tomorrow as we have more rain and weather in the 60s.   A cool week ahead.

Our home away from home in Amasa MI.  Have a nice day, Nancy

I just saw that ships are waiting to dock at Miami.  There was a crash in the channel at 3:40 this morning.  A quick look at the webcam shows three ships waiting.  DH’s sister is on the NCL ship waiting.

Oh my!  Thanks for letting us know.  That is quite a dilemma for all those cruisers, especially the ones missing their flights home today!  I hope they get the channel cleared soon.

I saw some nice Mykonos photos posted by Terri @Cruzin Terri and since she is on a cruise now, she won't be able to post them again most likely.  So I thought maybe I'd copy and paste them here for her.  I don't think she'd mind.

From Terri @Cruzin Terri:

Can’t find many photos on my iPad, but here are a few of Mykonos and one of Delos.

Got the wrong beach in Mykonos. It was Paradise Beach and I did mistakenly took a picture of two ladies topless on beach loungers. And I am still not going to post it.

We had a nice private excursion from our Port of call Honfleur, France. We saw the great sea wall in Etratat. Then it  was off to Fecamp where we toured the great Palace where Benedictine monks made the first Benedictine Liquor. Though the monks left during the Revolution the distillery still produces a million bottles a year of which 95% is exported. Never had it before. Very sweet. Palace itself was beautiful.

Had lunch with a great view and my seafood salad was scrumptious.

My weak ankle turned last night while walking down stairs and I went flying. Fortunately I was on last step but I ended banging my head on the elevator and this morning my knee is giving me trouble. I was lucky as I really banged my head pretty hard. Made it through the day but limping.

Tomorrow Brugge.

Thanks for the report and postings. Bruce

Good morning from a partly cloudy central Texas.  It is ready 86F at 9:06 am, but it feels like 93F.  Since my walk, the humidity has dropped to 67% with the dew point still at 73F.  The weather app says the wind is 16mph from the south.  Our clouds are getting thicker, but there is still no chance of rain in the foreseeable future.  Our high today will be 103F and will climb higher everyday until it reaches 107F on Wednesday, we the highs will slowly return to the 90s next Sunday.  It wasn't too bad when I took my walk when I was able to catch the breeze, but when I got where the sun was shining on me, it warmed up some.  I was lucky that it was 80F when I walked.  I think except for early grocery runs and walks, we will be inside most of the time in the coming days.

If it wasn't for log cabins in the early days of our country, the westward expansion would have been much slower.  We had catfish Thursday, so it will be hamburgers and French fries tonight.  I think we celebrate the day of the Seafarer here everyday.

With each new development in technology, today's quote becomes even more true.

The first recipe loos good, and I'm always looking for new ways to cook salmon.  I just looked at the first recipe, and except for the oregano, it is basically one of the ways I've cooked salmon.  It will also work in the air fryer, set on 400F and for 10-13 minutes depending on the thickness of the salmon.  We'll pass on the drink and the wine.

We have been to Mykonos twice.  The first time was in 2003 on the old Regal Princess and the second time was in 2016 on Prinsendam.  I'll look for my pictures in a few minutes.

Even with a techie husband, some how we missed the first global satellite television program.  We were both busy with college and wedding plans.

Carol, @mamaofami  I hope the weather cooperates and the pool party can take place out side.  Enjoy the pre-birthday celebration where ever it is held.

@kazu Jacqui, even though we can get fresh catfish around here at times, I keep a bag of frozen catfish fillets in the freezer for a quick dinner.  In Texas, it is almost a sin to serve catfish any way that is not breaded and fried.  I prefer to just season the catfish and cook it in the air fryer.

@smitty34877  Terry, I'm sorry about the power outage and lack of sleep, but I'm glad you and Tana managed well with the oxygen tanks.  I'm also glad the power company called to see if everything was all right after the power was restored.  Sending good and positive thoughts for Lou's surgery tomorrow.  I hope it all goes well, and that the recovery is easy.

@ottahand7  Nancy, I hope the toe looks better when you change the bandage today.  Thanks for the picture of your lovely cabin, but in my book it is a house not a cabin.  🙂

@dfish  Debbie, I hope you and Sue enjoy your week with River.  I'm sure she will have a good time.

@RedneckBob  Now, RNB, your "home sweet home" is what I would call a log cabin.  😉

@aliaschief  Bruce, thanks for the great pictures of the castle.

@Crazy For Cats  Jake, please wish your DH, Juan, a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY from us.  Enjoy your dinner out.

Good afternoon to all.

Thank you to Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie and Ann for your contributions to this thread.

@luvteaching I am so sorry things are not turning around for DH.  He and your whole family are in my prayers.

@kazu sorry I missed your special day yesterday.

@smitty34877 prayers for Lou for tomorrow.

@Vict0riann prayers for Pat

@Seasick Sailor prayers for your DH.

@mamaofami Happy Birthday

Prayers for all who need them.

Cheers for those cruising and celebrating a special occasion.  Sorry if I missed anyone.  The internet is abysmal and I am doing the best I can.

Today we docked in Warnemunde, Germany.  Since Jim and I spent a number of days there in 2019 before our Tauck River Cruise that started in Prague and ended in Budapest, we decided we did not need to make the long trip to Berlin for the day.  It is 3 hours each way.  The tours left at 6:15 this morning and are not due back until 9:30 pm.  That is a long day.  Too long for me and especially DH.

We first thought we would go to Rostock, but got caught in a mess.  The ship began an emergency test and all services stopped, including the elevators.  So we were stuck on the ship for a while. Then it started to get late.

So when we were able we left the ship and just wandered around Warnemunde.  We took a one-hour harbor tour.  it was nice but the whole commentary was in German.  While DH speaks German, he was having trouble understanding the commentary.  That’s okay.  We enjoyed the scenery.  Then we had lunch in one of the local restaurants along the channel, did some shopping and stopped for ice cream.  Finally made our way back to the ship.  the weather was beautiful and we had an enjoyable day.  As soon as I upload the photos to my iPad i will post some.

Tomorrow we are in Ronnie (Bornholm Island) Denmark. We have decided to stay on the ship.  We originally wanted to do a ship tour but it was sold out.  We are back there later in the cruise an will do it then.

Stay tuned for some photos.,

Happy Sunday to All and

God Bless,

Terri

We have been to Mykonos twice.  In 2003, we were there on the old Regal Princess as part of the mystery cruise.  We rented a car and drove around most of the island.  In 2016, we were there on the Prinsendam and just walked around town. Today's picrtures are a combination from both visits.  After going to Santorini twice, we decided we like Mykonos better.

A couple more pictures of the iconic windmills on Mykonos.

Good morning from a humid NY.We woke up to fog earlier which is less dense now.Thunderstorms are predicted for later.I hope the Pride events are not impacted today.

We have not been to Greece, like the idea of Greek salmon and liked catfish when I tried it.A coworker of mine had a great log cabin home built from a kit.It was unusual for our area.

We had a brief power outage last night but managed with our regular oxygen tanks. Con Edison dutifully  called to make sure we were reconnected at 3 am.Tana and I never went back to sleep. We confused the dogs by taking them out in the dark and feeding them. They also met the neighborhood  raccoon family which was a standoff thankfully.

Tomorrow  we will be at the hospital at 11 and the surgery should start at one.Thank you  to everyone  for their prayers.DH has a good attitude and we are all hoping the chemo treatment during the operation helps. It makes for a long procedure.

Enjoy the day and please be careful those if you in the terrible heat.

So sorry the two of you were not able to sleep 😔 Please try to rest today if possible.  You will need your strength for tomorrow.  My prayers for your DH’s surgery tomorrow and for all of you 🙏🏻

Good Morning Everyone, thanks for for today’s daily fleet report.  It’s a very humid day so the ac is going.  I’ll pass on today’s meal suggestion, instead we will go out for dinner.   We already went out for a nice breakfast, the restaurant at the corner makes really good corn beef hash.  I hope everyone has a good day today.

A birthday celebration from 2017 on the Veendam.  This was a Bermuda cruise.

Good Morning!  Related to “Today in History” today it is also International Beatles Day because of their appearance on Our World.  Here is a video of their performance.  If you watch closely you can see some other famous musicians including Mick Jagger, Graham Nash and Eric Clapton.

My favorite line from the song is,

There's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be

Remember, all you need is love.

I believe so but at my age very lucky. That ankle, which I injured in Vietnam in an helicopter crash; every few years without notice just gives out. Glad it was at the bottom of staircase.

I lived several years in our log cabin mountain home after we retired in 1999. We built a major addition of a real house and garage onto it in 2005, but took more years to “finish”, never fully finished! Log homes have some significant issues!  Ours was 5” logs, so only an R-5 wall between me and the winter!  And solid walls are hard to drill channels for wiring and plumbing. But I loved it and cherish those years. Eventually we sided over the logs with insulation and fire proof siding. But the logs were still the interior, loved it!  If I can resurrect pix from my old computer I’ll try to share them later.

I’ll take salmon over catfish any day. Missed Mykonos due to high winds.

Blessings to all in need of healing, comfort or hope. The list is long, you are all in my heart and prayers. Especially all the wives caring for their DHs in serious and grave situations! ❤️‍🩹💔. Sending out Love and Light!

Cheers to those celebrating, Life is Good!  🎉

Smooth travels to all away. Thanks for all the great pictures.  @aliaschief stunning photos!  Take Extra care walking now with the new tweets!  Oiy!

Gonna be hot and sticky today. Maybe a shower this evening to help. Wishing a Blessed Sunday to all!

Bruce

Nice photos. Did you like the Oceania Marina? We sailed on its sister ship the Riveria several times. It was great until we got bored and returned to HAL. I could not keep eating lobster or crab legs or filets or lamb chops, etc everyday! 😀
